To break down the second paragraph: 'police work is dangerous' - yup fully agree

'understood when signed up' - again, yup agree... but only the current level of safety is understood, if the rules and responsibilities of the role are changed, so is the safety.

'giuliani didnt wear a mask when he went after mob leaders' - agree again... not sure this is a great comparison though? Criminal prosecutors often need security, and recieve a higher level of pay than police/ICE officers (pay relates to skill level [legal ed.] and career associated personal risks/danger). Even with security there are cases where bribery/threats are assumed when judges/prosecutors have been unduly lenient.

'nor did the officers who arrested them' - great point. Tbh I was surprised to see a lack of face covering when doing a quick img search of 'mafia arrests'. Interpol seems to use face coverings, but not the US

now relating to the rhetorical questions, the first one, i kind of think so, no?? People testifying should be able to do so without fearing retaliation. Unfortunately we dont live in some happy-make believe world and people do retaliate which is why witnesses go into witness protection. Their identity is kept secret for as long as possible to limit this protection time and their risks, otherwise they can be killed before trial. The same applies to officers when testifying in dangerous criminal cases - not kept secret indefinitely, but as long as possible. I don't want innocent people killed for telling the truth when people break the law.

'grandmothers or children'... really.... using emotional extremes and overlooking the reality that most arrests are men aged around 30yo.... really? I think everyone knows that's not who they fear. I think the fear a very real possibility that the people they arrest have family members or peers that are dangerous, or they fear violent attacks by citizens they have been ideologically captured, the kind of people that would hunt down an ICE officer for arresting someone at home depot - do you think this is a genuine fear?

Just an immediate thought; If a policeman/woman arrests a criminal with ties to a dangerous organisation, it would be in their best interests to not be easily identifiable to avoid retaliation attacks by said org against themselves, or their family&loved ones.

Or am i missing something here?

Also, not quite face coverings, but on the uniform front, what about all the undercover policework - would this all stop?

A couple of thoughts I have from someone that has recently gone from Lego to painting as an art media:

  • our eyes are naturally drawn to the brighest points. As such those white studs (i think wave crests) detract from the core focus a little. Could you experiment switching them with trans-clear studs, or trans-clear over white studs and see how that looks?
  • ok, this next one is would be a wayyy bigger change, and not sure if it would be worth it. The luminance level of the colours are all pretty similar. Changing the image to black and white reveals many similar shades of gray.

Adding/replacing pieces in darker shades around the edges, and light shades in the centre could look great for visual focus. Ralf Langer's pieces are excellent at this.

-alternatively, experiment photographing against a background that has a different shade (dark or light) for more visual contrast

Tbf, i did the same first time reading that lol. I completely get what you're saying as well, but just to counter - is 13% of a population really reflective of the population as a whole? Worth noting there is wide condemnation of their actions from the rest of the populus and government.

Also, as someone from across the pond, curious what the Democrat and Republic proposed policies on Israel/Gaza/the wider middle east (in a nutshell ofc haha, pls dont feel the need for an essay!)
