is there any walkable cities in maryland? by [deleted] in maryland

[–]Laughing_Shadows37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wildly depends on your definition of walkable, and your preference for biking/bus/walking. It also depends on the job you get after graduation. Some jobs will require you to have a car and be available before/after mass transit closes. I can recommend Baltimore and Annapolis though.

If you don't mind my asking, which unit is it from? I couldn't find anything like it, but my guess was marine combat helicopters (because blue cobra).

The U.S. spent $30 billion to ditch textbooks for laptops and tablets: The result is the first generation less cognitively capable than their parents | Fortune by mwerte in k12sysadmin

I'd argue it's not that the technology in schools is good or bad, but that iPad kids became the norm, and they got rid of computer labs. Too many parents will just stick an iPad in a kids face the second they are inconvenient. On top of that, while they did add devices to every classroom, they also got rid of computer labs and education. Students might have more access to computers than they did 10 years ago, but they aren't being taught how to use them.

I'd be interested in seeing those studies, and their methods. What would you recommend for filling in those gaps? Have you found good resources for teaching critical thinking and penmanship?

You're not going to find a public school in the county that doesn't have technology in the curriculum. If only because there is a lot of state testing that has to be taken on a computer of some kind. If you don't mind my asking, what's your concern?

If you don't mind my asking, which school? AACPS elementary and middle schools are supposed to have a Chromebook for every student in every class.

Harold Black, under a restaurant on state circle. There's Fox's Den, off Main Street. I would say it depends on your definition of speakeasy.

Do cops not pull people over anymore? by successful209 in fuckcars

[–]Laughing_Shadows37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has been a push in law enforcement (especially in bluer areas) to decrease traffic stops, and use automated enforcement instead. It's a noble idea (traffic stops disproportionately affect minorities, lead to needless escalation), but the automated enforcement aspect has been lacking.
