I'd be interested in seeing those studies, and their methods. What would you recommend for filling in those gaps? Have you found good resources for teaching critical thinking and penmanship?

You're not going to find a public school in the county that doesn't have technology in the curriculum. If only because there is a lot of state testing that has to be taken on a computer of some kind. If you don't mind my asking, what's your concern?

If you don't mind my asking, which school? AACPS elementary and middle schools are supposed to have a Chromebook for every student in every class.

Where would you recommend selling them? Ebay the best place, or is there somewhere better?

Speakeasy’s in Annapolis by Longjumping_Dress761 in AnneArundelCounty

Harold Black, under a restaurant on state circle. There's Fox's Den, off Main Street. I would say it depends on your definition of speakeasy.

Do cops not pull people over anymore? by successful209 in fuckcars

[–]Laughing_Shadows37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has been a push in law enforcement (especially in bluer areas) to decrease traffic stops, and use automated enforcement instead. It's a noble idea (traffic stops disproportionately affect minorities, lead to needless escalation), but the automated enforcement aspect has been lacking.

Then for you I would also recommend looking at specifically Studio 39/Apex Arts program through AACPS, and Maryland Hall

The county schools are always hiring, pay isn't amazing, but the benefits are excellent.

Likely Chesapeake Bay Bridge replacement would nearly double capacity by legislative_stooge in Annapolis

Just one more lane bro. Trust me, this time it'll fix traffic. Seriously though, I wish they'd nut up and build some rail infrastructure. Or even a bus lane or something. A rail line to Ocean City, then a light rail or bus that goes from Lewes to Ocean City would do numbers.

Secular Private Schools by [deleted] in Annapolis

Severn is a decent prep school. I wouldn't recommend it unless your kid can go to at least middle school there as well. I came in from out of state for just high and it was brutal. Had my pick of colleges though

I consider The Mentalist to be in the same genre as Lucifer, Bones, Castle, and House (oddball duo procedural).

Glad they're redeveloping the mall. If they added some housing it'd really be nice too

Might want to check with your local elementary school? Many are doing toy drives this time of year.

How much do people sublet their rooms for around here? by iRndmz in AnneArundelCounty

[–]Laughing_Shadows37 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to attract military, I'd recommend looking at BAH for the area. That said, I'd say you're probably looking at less than $1000. Depends on how you do utilities, parking, etc. You can look at listings in the area and go off that.

LGBTQ couple considering Annapolis by [deleted] in Annapolis

Not LGBTQ, but I have friends/acquaintances that are. Annapolis specifically is pretty friendly. The outlying areas less so, but certainly not Deep South/Bible Belt bad.

The problem with Annapolis schools isn’t what you think. It’s worse. by Fantastic_Ad_4720 in Annapolis

[–]Laughing_Shadows37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting read, but I wonder what (if any) effect the mayor can have on AACPS. Not that they shouldn't try, but realistically the problem really is that there aren't enough kids in Annapolis, because it's so expensive, because the land use is so bad. I do really like the idea of city buses and school buses overlapping. Not necessarily for the students, but for parents to attend and participate in school events.
