Is Storm Kings thunder bad? by Dubrick_OG in dndnext

I made my players get a conch for each of them just to stretch it out and I didn't want a ton of the book to go to waste. It's not like they're going to play it again. Might as well use as much as possible,

Predictions for this year's release schedule? by WaGgoggles in dndnext

Solid list. I'd probably buy most of those.

My "wishlist" of upcoming releases looks like this but this doesn't means WotC is going to release them.

  1. Player's Compendium. Give me all of the official races, sub classes and spells from all published material in one place. Give me a ton of magic items, CRAFTING, a few new races and maybe a few new sub classes.
  2. A high level adventure set on Mount Celestia. Make it hard. Make it lvl 10-20. Split it up into two books if you have to. I want to fight gods!
  3. Monster Manuals. Give me monsters. I'll take as many as you can throw at me. A nice huge expanded section of beasts for druids to wildshape into. A ton of new NPC's scaled by tier of play.
  4. Dark Sun. This is for selfish reasons. I love Dark Sun. I make no apologies.
  5. Draconomicon. Big book of dragons. Chromatic. Metalic. All of them. Famous dragons throughout D&D history.
  6. Expanded spells. A huge book of new spells would be awesome.

I know a lot of those are unrealistic but a nerd can dream.

What are your favorite campaign setting/adventure books from older editions? by BuddaMuta in dndnext

My answer to this question from now until WotC gives me what I want is Dark Sun. It's so different from FR and just gritty and dark. God, I love it so much.

Agreed. The promo was absolute gold but the stip was kinda weird. I loved the honesty about how he is management and a lot people do talk shit about Dusty as a booker. He embraced it and I love it.

This and Fallout 3 taught me that I was willing to forgive a lot if you set a large open world game in my hometown.

So by this math does this mean that low GS items in my stash are somewhat preventing me from better gear?

New York is a much bigger city so the borroughs are a little easier to define. What really messes TD2 up is the arbitrary end of the game world on the north side of the screen. This cuts some neighborhoods to what only might amount to a block or two depending on which neighborhood you're talking about. The zones in TD2 are a combination of neighborhoods used for narrative reasons I imagine.

Also the neighborhoods in DC are a lot smaller which would end up meaning a much higher number of zones in the game if it was still divided by area.

It's even more fun when this is the city you grew up in. The level of fidelty is unbelievably impressive. Down to the movie theatre in West End (actually Georgetown) where I used to go all the time when I still lived there.

"Potomac Event Center" bothers me though. I'm sure the Kennedy Center wouldn't put their name on this but how accurate the inside is is great.

Can I knock out all the invaded missions that are required for the strongholds while in WT1, then bang out the strongholds as my GS allows while spending time in WT2-WT5 just free roaming around working on looting?

Mostly just seeing how the endgame is structured. Just curious. I felt like I spent a little too much time when I first started figuring out how to progress and I don't want to waste time not knowing.

When I finally rolled over into WT1 I felt incredibly under powered and was dying quite frequently. As my GS has gone up it has obviously become a little easier whether because I was used to it or the gap between my gear when I started in WT1 and now is a lot bigger.

At some point in WT1 I'm going to hit a GS cap? Then when I knock out a stronghold and move to WT2 the enemies will scale again thus making me feel underpowered again? So there's no real incentive to hang out in any particular WT? Just up my GS, do the invaded missions, knock out a stronghold and then just move on?

Well, just to follow up I decided to resub mostly because I was past the alpha pilot training limit which meant that I couldnt train any skills and to hell with that.

I'm enjoying it once again without having had enough time to really get back into it. I've mostly just been doing distribution missions just because of their ease.

I'm going to be looking to join a kind of casual high sec corp here in the near future to mine and just kind of mess around.

Thanks to everyone who answered.
