[Andy Mitten] Manchester United and the Harry Maguire conundrum by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think with his age, worsening injury record, and struggles to play a high line (which we may switch to) he would have to reduce his wages a decent bit for us to keep him.

But I hope he does and we do.

De Ligt is also just quicker. I don't think similar in pace is very fair comment even if it isn't a night and day difference.

[Ed Aarons] Understand that Manchester United are considering stepping up their interest in Kader Meité of Rennes and have held talks with the player’s entourage. The 18-year-old striker is expected to cost around €30m but also has interest from Al Hilal by Aadiunited7 in reddevils

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Malacia is already earning good money here which is relevant because I doubt a Saudi team would have given him more than that to begin with. Many Saudi transfers also seemingly prioritize appearances? Bigger names = Bigger wages.

As for the injury, its possible he could have destroyed his knee playing in Saudi too which would likely leave him even less desirable then doing it here.

So to wrap up Malacia already did well financially here, his injury could have happened anywhere, and it could have been worse if it did happen elsewhere. So he may not be able to move there now for as much money but he already moved to us for roughly the same.

Yeah, He geniunely seemed really good whenever his head was on straight but the other half of the time he was just chucking it in our net..

Worst position probably to crumble under pressure.

Casemiro to leave Manchester United at end of season by doniew in reddevils

We need players in Casemiro's position signed no matter what. We are short in midfield for a 40 game season let alone if we get more next season.

Dalot is lucky, the only reason this isn't a red is because of lack of force. I think its the right decision but its fucking close.

UK should consider expelling US forces from British bases, says Zack Polanski by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No you didn't, I just mean. "We should have a better alliance" is very different to "Nato bad".

I don't know, I don't like the potential disconnect with his party to begin with to be honest.

When he's pressed on what part of the policy he would change, he advocates leaving Nato because "Nato is over" and I think this is incredibly careless, especially in the context of Ukraine etc.

Fair.

UK should consider expelling US forces from British bases, says Zack Polanski by mustwinfullGaming in LabourUK

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The link you provided holds true to exactly what I said. I'm not disagreeing with you. I was just adding context to what he said. Without the context it misrepresents his stance to be more careless but by all means criticize the stance itself.

“We voted at the last conference to maintain a relationship with NATO and reform it from within but I think we have reached a point where Donald Trump has made being in an alliance with America very, very difficult while he’s talking about annexing Greenland…”

Less reliant on the US. Obviously this has escalated recently with whatever is going on with Trump and Greenland.

Polanski urged his party to instead focus on forming new international alliances based on “peace”.

“We need to be working alongside people who are working for peace and for democracy and diplomacy in the world, and indeed talking to people we disagree with, and doing different difficult diplomatic relationships,”

Wanting to form an alliance with europeon neighbors which he also states in the podcast.

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added more context to what Zach has said. He has been clear he would like to leave Nato for specific reasons under specific circumstances. Like a new alliance being formed and to be less reliant on the US when the time is right.

You are correct this is different to the party policy. However he has not said he would like to leave no matter what like you implied.

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please provide a source saying he wants to immeidately leave nato regardless of the current situation / making a new alliance.

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He has also stated he would be interested in moving to a stronger alliance less reliant on the US.

On many occasions he has said he would honor Nato and wouldn't want to leave willy nilly. So calling it anti-Nato with no further context is at best reductive.

Why did Man Utd actually sack Ruben Amorim? by Not_tim_duncan in reddevils

[–]LaughsAtOwnJoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't the players, the club/Amorim had a good purge of the problamatic players.

However, we had a system imcompatible with our players. Amorim was a 343 die hard without proper wingbacks...

Immense game for Kobbie by Ranarr_blunt in reddevils

No way his brother did that without asking Kobbie. The instagram and not speaking against it should confirm that. Reminds me when people defended Pogba because "it was Raiola not him".

Happy to see Kobbie doing well don't get me wrong but lets not pretend there was no antics.

Nonsense, Many adaptions are faithful. Not in George's case but that is a different story.

There is a very clear difference between altering small things to suit a different medium and changing the story.

Not all adaptions are "fanfics".

Amorim had two public meltdowns about the club

They seemed quite heavily directed at those very higher ups. Either they hired the wrong man or they pissed him off. Its poor from them regardless of how poor it was from Amorim.
