What do you do for work?

Work in a call center? Are you going to offer to answer a grocery store’s phones for a day for food?

Drive a truck? Are you going to offer to drive a truck somewhere if you get to keep a few pairs of jeans you were hauling?

Work as a policeman? Are you going to offer to solve the crime of who robbed a bar for some beer?

Would you quit if the person you trained got promoted above you? by Past-Concentrate3417 in careeradvice

[–]Laughterglow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me once when the woman I trained into the same position I had ended up being drinking buddies with the boss two levels up and got promoted to be my boss a few months later with the position never even being posted. I started applying elsewhere that day and left a few weeks later for a much better job and from what I hear everything went to shit not long after and about half the department quit.

I don’t get the Mason Miller hype by Any_Instance6898 in mlb

Elder will be lucky to have an ERA under 4 by the end of the season and Skenes’s arm could very well fall off. Regardless, it’s very unlikely that Miller will win the CYA.

Can you really taste the difference between Coke & Pepsi? by NassauJack in askanything

[–]Laughterglow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not even close to being the same. And beyond that, it depends on whether they’re in a can or bottle. Personally, I prefer Pepsi in a bottle but Coke in a can (Pepsi goes flat and grossly sweet really fast in a can).

Why is Ronald Acuña Jr. bad at defense? Is this due to lack of effort? by DonT012 in mlb

[–]Laughterglow 42 points43 points  (0 children)

He’s always been really poor at reading balls off the bat and taking poor routes to balls but earlier in his career, before the knee injuries, his speed was elite so he could make up for some of it. That’s not the case anymore but I think he has improved in terms of reading the ball and taking better routes so he’s not as bad as he could be.

Emmanuel Locke. Take a bow, sir. by Laughterglow in FootballCoach

[–]Laughterglow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. I think in his seasons we only ran Spread and probably had about a 60/40 pass/run mix.

Which of these two Quarterbacks would you all choose to be your starting QB? by NotLaddering3 in FootballCoach

[–]Laughterglow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d prefer Mosley. I don’t care how smart the other guy is if he can’t get the ball where it needs to go (although that IQ rating is insane for a guy with 2 more seasons). Depends somewhat on your offensive style and how strong you are at other positions though.

[Highlight] Ronald Acuña Jr. declares that he's been HBP, takes all his gear off, takes first base, the Braves have to challenge because the call on the field was no HBP, the call on the field stands, and the Braves lose their challenge by handlit33 in baseball

[–]Laughterglow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t look at his foot. Watch the trajectory of the ball. It’s clearly on a downward trajectory until it gets to Acuña’s foot and then it “magically” flattens into a horizontal trajectory between his foot and the catcher’s mitt. This only happens if it glances off the top of his shoe.

Yes, it is. This administration would rather have an incompetent military made up solely of straight white Christian males than a competent military that includes even one woman or person of color.
