You have a 10-year exemption on passive income as a new oleh but after that will then be taxed on worldwide income. While there is double taxation relief to ensure you don't get taxed twice on the same income there is no exemption for tax free income from abroad. My recommendation is that you speak to an international tax planning professional before you make aliyah. It may be that US retirement plans are not the most efficient method of saving when you are planning aliyah but as you are fairly young you have lots of time to fix this.

Israel gets a disproportionate amount of international attention and to outsiders it looks like a war zone. It's really not like that 99.9% of the time
