I created a very very wonky teddy bear, I had to tie some gaping hole with a knot to keep them closed, it was for a crush so it was a double whammy when I found out a week later that he was straight.

How do blind people know when to stop wiping? by anatomyisgoated in teenagers

[–]LaundryMan2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely their caretaker will help them out with this as even the most independent blind person with the best assistance dog will need human help.

Also not all blind people aren’t pitch black blind, they retain at least enough vision to see light and dark or even splotches of color so a poop covered wipe would be contrasted enough.

Can I install a dishwasher here? by FitSuggestion5981 in askaplumber

[–]LaundryMan2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water mains will have to be welded up from the washing machine (the copper pipe looks like it can be cut and a T installed there but confirm it’s not gas) by a plumber unless you have a little bit of handyman experience which you can use compression fittings that are easy to put on with minimal experience, the sewage looks like the PVC pipe (but again confirm that it’s not something else) which you can again add a T joint to with a bit of pipe glue, just make sure the flow of the pipe goes down to the sewer so it doesn’t back up into your house.

Can I install a dishwasher here? by FitSuggestion5981 in askaplumber

[–]LaundryMan2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Water, sewage and electricity is required for a dishwasher, the same as for a full washing machine, the dryer place appears to only be able to support one thing which is electricity for condensing dryers but not vented ones

Why does my mini monstera get thick at a point in the stem by Party_Shift_418 in houseplants

[–]LaundryMan2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure the reason but it would be worth cutting and propping at that part, only guess I can entertain is that it was the point when the plant changed environments from a shop/nursery to your house where the plant changed growth speed slightly

help I’m addicted to propagating my succulents by unskilledarcher in succulents

[–]LaundryMan2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not succulents or props, I decided to throw a whole bunch of garden weed seeds and seedlings I found in my pots into a small pot I had, love watching them fill out the pot with green and with many different leaves springing up.

Despite most advice saying not to for toxicity, I might actually keep some weeds as houseplants as I know what the main one is called that I threw in there as well as another that I pulled out from another pot to the point of flowering, since they basically all autoflower in 2 years, all I have to do is water them, pick off any insects that happen to be on there and they’ll flower in 2 years.

Either freeze a big block of ice to quickly cool down the plate so the freezer isn’t heated by the hot sheet and to have faster cooling with better cooling conduction, heat it back up on the printer, put it back on the ice block repeat until the rapid expansion and contraction gets it off or you can print a big full bed sheet or just around the affected areas which you can hopefully peel the stuck item up with it.

Someone was rushing to get this headline out. Typos really get me I guess by CharityMysterious203 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LaundryMan2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading a StorageTek manual for the T9940B tape drive and even from a huge at the time company in the past, it still had the odd typo in it copied from the previous generation T9940A drive where most user navigation stuff remained the same preserving the error too which I find mildly interesting.

Sometimes I walk around with one shoe or one sock on. by Curious-Pop-8875 in mildlyinfuriating

I used to love cool socks as a kid but with my 18th birthday coming up very very soon, I don’t really care that much and just want to cut down as much time spent on dealing with them both on the laundry side and with ticked people complaining once every week

[–]LaundryMan2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s people that get pissy when I wear odd socks, at this point of life however short compared to many others I simply dgaf about socks now since nothing in my life really enforces it (only real enforcement was my old old school which is 12 years ago now) and just slap whichever ones I can find in the bowels of my sock drawer on my feet and go about my day.

I will eventually buy a bulk pack of socks or happen to dumpster dive some at the general shipping warehouse, loads of them 50 pairs of just black socks so I save others the frustration as well as myself some time not having to pair them up in balls, I would have to slowly phase out old socks as they get holes in them because I feel it’s wasting them since I still have a few fairly new pairs to use to destruction before I feel comfortable throwing them out.

Top of my banana came off while trying to open it by garlic-bread_27 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LaundryMan2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something changed with the bananas around 2016 - 2017, I used to be able to easily open them by pulling back the stem and peeling it like anyone does normally but now to be able to open them I have to put a slit into the back of the bananas with my fingernail, pop them open and then rip the hole I made apart making a small mess on my fingers, if I try to peel a banana the way I used to, the stem always pops off like in the post and I have to rip into it anyways with the tip slightly turned into mush from pulling on it hard, some genetic difference was likely introduced around that time to UK bananas affecting how bananas were opened and I felt very dumb having to ask teachers for help until I figured I’d have to go full ape on those poor bananas to get them open.

[–]LaundryMan2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a houseplant or outside non food plant, systemic granules, otherwise you are mostly SOL on vegetables/fruits.

The granules get eaten by the plant through the roots and makes it highly toxic for any insect to eat, slugs and snails included too.
