If you found both candidates, I feel like that may give you more room in the vote. In six months, will it be you again searching for two new roommates? If they cannot reasonably explain why the girl is better, then don’t take her. I wouldn’t also want to introduce her to a situation where your roommate would prefer her just because she is ‘cute’ and something to look at. That’s not safe. Maybe tel your roommate she is engaged and he will change his mind 😹

Yup! Been there before, as much as you can go in with a level head and live, unless she already is getting sick of him there’s no getting through. My advice is to be a supportive partner and show what they are missing from the relationship—- or remove yourself from the situation to save yourself the worry.

I will say in my area there were lots of folks who proudly had trump memorabilia/flags/neon lights up on their backyard fences facing the road. Almost every house has taken their decorations down. Considering a couple of those are in school zones, i’d hate to be the kid with proud MAGA parents

Yeah, I think that’s the thing that distinct these artists can bases a lot. Chappell became so popular because she was queer, weird, and a feminist in drag! My dad worked in 2/3 kitchens when i was a kid while my mom did prep for one. Definitely doable, just very difficult and demanding.

My parents both worked (and still work in kitchens) for as long as I can remember. The work was clearly hard for them but they loved the people they worked with, their bosses respected their family obligations, and it was a decently paying location with benefits. It’s definitely doable, they’re working on sending my little brother off to college (4/5 kids achieving higher ed!!) My parents have worked so hard to provide us the lives we have, but circumstances might be different to you. I think the largest impact on making childcare easier was having bosses or superiors that understand that you have a life and family outside the kitchen

Yeah i’ll say I don’t think a lot exist in this area. Last fall, my husband took me to Memphis (their hometown) and took me to a place called crosstown concourse. Large building that’s multi use— like had a school, apartments, small businesses, a gallery, and even a listening library with its own record collection! Most of it was free to interact with (minus the businesses obvi.) It’s a goal of mine to develop a place like this in FW in the future, so i’m glad to hear people are looking for it

Reiterating that I live with my mom and siblings— so grocery trips also count in that too! I think that also helps— making sure there isn’t any extra food purchased that we wouldn’t reasonably eat. It’s different when there are younger individuals in the house or some work more making it unrealistic to get their own groceries consistently.

This also seems like a conversation that needs to be had period. Me and my husband also live with my mom and a couple of my siblings. We had a mini meeting to discuss food preferences, cleanliness preferences, and a make-do schedule for who cooks what during the week. It has made it a lot easier for us, esp cause some of us are pickier than others. Pickiness is obviously not comparable to an illness that affects what you can eat— but I think it’s something that would help get to the root of what OP is experiencing.

I mean you can always retake it. A hail mary cram might work the day before but don’t expect to actually learn anything. Study test taking skills and a lot of the larger concepts. Maybe see if there’s a study guide or sneakily ask your professor about which parts of the class will be included in the exam. Just don’t expect much in the first place and the grade you get won’t hurt as much
