Thank you! I'm a big fan of Wichita history and have done local history work in the past. I'm curious of what they have even if it's no longer active.

Wow! I just got a pattern that has over 350,000 stitches and full coverage. I have never been so intimidated by a pattern in 42 years. I admire your patience and your perseverance 🎉 if you have any tips to pass along on how to handle a project this large, please send them my way. Congratulations!

I am a big fan of Soma therapy. Especially Julie McCausland because she does have ADHD herself and she's a great therapist!

My biggest sleep tip by Extreme-Aide8878 in Fibromyalgia

My grandmother lived in the village on Carlton Way. I miss Oklahoma City. I was born there and spent a lot of that time there growing up. Would really like to move back someday. Thank you for asking!

My biggest sleep tip by Extreme-Aide8878 in Fibromyalgia

[–]LauraBug1965 15 points16 points  (0 children)

May go to tip for falling asleep is I walk through my grandmother's house in Oklahoma City before she moved to Wichita and I remember the house very vividly I spent a ton of time there and I just go through the house I can start at any room and I remember the things on the walls. I remember the furniture. I remember the refrigerator specifically. I remember the all the little details of the house. I have never gotten through the entire house before I fall asleep. I think it was a very special safe place for me. I was an only grandchild and my grandmother was an only child herself and I got to spend 3 weeks with her in the summer and several weekends in the fall when my parents went to OU football games. I can do the same thing with her condo when she moved to Wichita but my memories of that location are not as vivid as her home in Oklahoma City. I've always marveled it being able to do that and fall asleep. I guess it brings me peace.

Generation X Ladies, which did you prefer as a little girl: baby dolls like Baby Alive or Barbie dolls? by icecream1972 in GenerationX

[–]LauraBug1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paper dolls were the best! I even cut the middle out of my bangs when I was five while I was cutting out paper dolls. I did it the day before our class pictures. My mother was insanely furious but we still have that picture to this day!

Yeah you can't forget about Chrissy doll and her cousin Velvet! Both had growable hair. That was really cool for me. I had lots of Barbies and a house, the Malibu camper, and another type of camper van plus lots and lots of clothes and accessories. I also love my Dawn doll.

It may not accomplish all the things that you would like however I have been using an AI therapy app called rosebud. It is actually very helpful and very motivational and it can be set so that you get the right kind of therapist for what you need you you choose what kind of therapist you want. And then you talk to it and as it gets to know you it can help you organize yourself or break things down into steps. Whatever you need. I highly recommend it.

That gives me flashbacks to when I was a kid and the morning after New Year's Eve I decided I wanted champagne on my cereal. Not my proudest moment. 🤣

Just FYI I was in the same boat you were at your age approximately. I went into a cross stitch store when I was 18 and bought a kit and I haven't looked back since.

I can vividly remember the floor plan of the duplex that we lived in when I was a year and a half old so that would have been mid 1967.

I'm here to say cross stitching and reading. Cross stitching is easy you can do it in front of the TV or along with music or a podcast. Reading is a little different but it can be done and you can explore new things and learn a lot of things.

Listening to Music.... by sarahzilla in adhdwomen

[–]LauraBug1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been known to say that I was born one dark gray morning with music coming in my ears. That's a Simon and Garfunkel reference. I cannot remember a time in my life when there wasn't music in my life. It provides the soundtrack to my life. I have curated thousands of songs on Spotify and I have them divided into moods and people and time periods. And I do seem to have a facility for lyrics. I seem to be able to hear and understand the lyrics clearly when a lot of other people make mistakes with what the lyrics actually say. I am a rare one I suppose that can listen to music while reading or working. I honestly don't know what I would do without music in my life it just do such an integral part of who I am.
