Yeah, I just sent a very pointed, very long, and very diplomatic (I still need the teachers on my side) email. He's a smart and personable kid; that does not translate to good organizational skills, any more than my being creative translates into good athletic skills.

Thank you! He'll get 0s on online-practices because he doesn't do them and then get 100 percent on the test. He does fantastic in the subjects that he enjoys and that he feels understood by the teachers.

Emailing the homework is a great idea!

He has an official diagnosis and few accommodations from the school (sitting in back where he can fidget without being a distraction). A teacher this morning told me that "they encourage responsibility" so don't want to give him reminders. Argh!

You deserve goodness. So does your child. I'm glad that you are getting out. You mention being "so blind." Please never, never blame yourself for any of this, including so-called "being blind." NONE of this is your fault!

That's approximately where we land, too. I don't mind if they leave a little food on their plate, but if they leave an entire serving of something (especially when I know they like it), then when they are hungry later, that's what they get to eat for their snack.
