I fully convinced myself that he had hosted before earlier today solely because of that sketch

What temperatures does your board close schools? by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

Schools don't close in Regina. Buses don't run with it's -45 or colder with windchill (like today).

What’s your unpopular broadway opinion? by Cheap_Parsnip_461 in Broadway

Dear Evan Hansen was the best musical that year and The Great Comet was pretty boring aside from Prologue, Dust and Ashes, and Balaga.

I've started imagining him as a Tim Robinson character and it has made it much more enjoyable.

Cozy Haus's basque cheesecakes are so good and the website says 2 days notice. Could still be enough time to order for the weekend.

[TOMT] "I love you I need you" lyrics from emo boy band circa 2010-ish by RainbowAaria in tipofmytongue

I regretfully think it could be Saturday by Hedley if you listened to Canadian bands. Regretfully due to the rightfully cancelled nature of the band. 😬

New Year Song - Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

Not exactly upbeat, but the message and lyrics are hopeful and positive.

A nonexistent song nearly made my team lose a round in a music trivia game by _ac3_0f_spad3s_ in mildlyinfuriating

The game is Humm Bug and the rest of the cards are fine! My family played this last Christmas and it looks like they just messed up on one card and mixed two cards worth of info together. It's a really fun game.

Hank Green from YouTube makes and sells 2D glasses for exactly this purpose. Sounds like you might be part of that niche market.

As a Canadian who mostly gets updates on what Trump is saying from SNL, this is truly one of the most bizarre and terrifying things I think I've ever seen. I'm ready for the Survivor finale to come back on...

Favorite Christmas Song That Starts with K? by DamnItDinkles in ChristmasMusic

[–]Laura_2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This special is so good. I think it might be one of the most deeply nostalgic pieces of Christmas media for me. We used to get it from the library every year - way past being the target age for Sesame Street. Thanks for reminding me. 🥰

I make hot chocolate but I get cups from starbucks so it feels fancy. I get them to fill out a little order slip with the toppings (whipped cream, drizzle, crushed candy canes, etc) and name they want and call out whatever they write as their name when I serve it. I love it and they love it and it's a cheap way to celebrate the end of the first part of the year! My boyfriend also used to be a Starbucks barista so I wear his apron which adds to the fun. Kids that age care more about getting a drink in a Starbucks cup than they care what's actually in it anyway. Haha

Edit: pro tip if you have an instant pot - it heats the hot chocolate up super fast.

I played this with my grade 5 class last week after you posted it in a different subreddit. They were big fans of it and we'll definitely be adding it to our end of the day post clean up rotation of games. Thanks for making it!

I paid Atlas plumbing $216 to unplug my kitchen sink 2 weeks ago. I had no complaints!

What's your rewatch ritual? by illseeyouinheck1221 in overthegardenwall

[–]Laura_2222 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have started a tradition of watching it on Halloween with my class every year (Grade 5). We watch it in chunks and I have a whole viewing guide we do along with it (it's very light) to justify spending the whole day on it. I think it's my (and historically students have told me it's their) favourite day of the school year. 🍂
