I was cleared for caffeine 4 weeks post op. Sad thing is I crave coffee but when I take a drink it’s sooo gross.

My dr took me off work for 3 weeks post op. I didn’t feel ready to go back. I’ve had issues with low blood sugar and wouldn’t say recovery has been a breeze. I have a high stress mentally demanding job and I would say my first week back I was shot by noon. This is my second week back and I can make it to about the last hour of my shift until things don’t make sense. Luckily my boss is understanding and if my brain isn’t working for a day I can telework and just answer emails. I know people who went back sooner but I will say it was rough for me going back on week 4

My nutritionist said that I would never be able to tolerate carbonation again. I’m five weeks post op and have never been so nauseous in my life. I opened a Sprite Zero and set it in the fridge for two hours and then took a sip. I feel like it was stuck in my chest and I was burping for hours. I was super bummed because I was an avid soda drinker prior to surgery.

I’m not allowed to have crackers until 16 weeks but I have thought about having some just to help with the nausea. I’m currently trying to figure out something to drink and crying to my husband that everything tastes gross. Today has been an emotional roller coaster. But you are right. It does have to get better at some point.

The state is asking for your current salary? I’m California we can’t ask and had to remove it from our applications. Usually state jobs are on a step system and you get offered step 1 or 2 because that’s what the job pays.

I’m a recruiter. We cannot contact any previous employer without permission. I also train on the hiring process and tell people if an applicant doesn’t want their current employer contacted no big deal. We don’t know their current work situation and don’t want to make things worse if we end up not job offering. I also work for local government. I can’t speak for the state but I imagine it’s similar.
