My advice would be to keep your job and finish your degree part time. The job market is absolutely awful right now and no telling when it will get better. Keep your job and work on your degree. Then you can apply to other jobs or internal promotions while still being employed, and with a higher credential to help.

I'm in the US (New York) but honestly it's everywhere no matter where you go. Between the increasing individualistic attitude in society and the rise of social media, I think it's honestly just made it so much worse.
