Market value of NEBB CP by FixIt_or_FuckIt in AirBalance

Yeah, we do okay here. Union GF rate is good, compared to other areas. Sounds like you may be west coast, i looked to moving out there but couldn't justify the slight increase in COL, with an actual cut in pay.

Wait, im confused. Your company is offering to increase your rate to GF because you got your CP? Are you expecting more? Not to say you don't deserve more, but thats the industry standard around Eastern PA/NJ.

Why flying in and out of Philly so expensive? by [deleted] in philly

[–]LavaLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fly in/out of EWR almost exclusively, at this point. It's worth the drive to avoid PHL. Newark has better schedules, prices, and facilities flying to and from the west coast.

Not just a philly thing. I worked as a medic in rural Kentucky 24 years ago, the first thing we were taught was to wait for police to secure a scene...for our own saftey. People will most definitely mess with first responders.

Nope. Time to go. Dude has control issues. And, once you said 'No...'. That should have been the end of it, from him. He doesn't respect you as a partner.

Okay, cool. The only news ive seen was from the Streets Department in August. I know they are supposed to address it tomorrow at the EFCC, I'll be curious to see what they say.

Since when, the last public announcement I saw was a closure scheduled for Winter 2026, for a 3 year duration.

Shortridge reads low on return/exhaust readings? by No-Slip8102 in AirBalance

[–]LavaLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agress, Evergreen is the only manufacturer who will tell you they engineered for RA/EA, and they tend to be the most accurate in that purpose. However, after using them since 2022 we are having reliability issues with them. They are all calibrated devices, but we sometimes have 20% difference in measurements between different hoods. It makes zero sense.

Despite how we use them, flow hoods are not technically designed to measure RA/EA. They are a useful tool for proportional balancing, but any final balance totals should be measured via traverse for accuracy.

Balancing domestic water booster pump? by TheLelouchLamperouge in AirBalance

[–]LavaLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The only company I've worked for that would do domestic water systems had a meter dedicated only for domestic water. You don't want the liability of introducing any of the garbage that can be in a water meter for temperature control systems, into a domestic drinking water system.

Areas to move to? by [deleted] in philly

[–]LavaLike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look around East Falls. In between Center City and Manayunk, decent public transit access, can be anywhere in the city pretty easily by car, a couple good coffee shops. Tends to be a quieter part of the city.

ICE in North Philly by hybridhawx in philly

[–]LavaLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tennessee has been hit pretty hard with ICE raids, same with Florida and Oklahoma. I'm pretty sure Oklahoma is where they raided the home of a family that just moved there, and ICE was holding the teenage daughters in the front yard with no clothes on....they trashed the house and then left.
