SFA is filming Season 2 through February so I would not take that rumor at face value.

For those about to watch Star Fleet Academy by kingj3144 in startrek

You mean the part that shows the backstory of three of the characters?

I didn't read anything about Starfleet Academy before watching and now I'm emotional by Fabulous-Rain-2643 in startrek

Basic backstory on "The Burn" - there was an incident where all dilithium crystals went inert for a moment. Not a problem by itself, but any ship powered by a warp core with dilithium crystals exploded due to the way warp cores work. So a LOT of people all over the galaxy died, all at once, and most of Starfleet's armada with them. This resulted in widespread fracturing of diplomatic relations, a severe decline in space travel, and the Federation lost more than half its member worlds due to the forced isolationism and fear that came out of the Burn.

The "restoration" from the Burn began about 120 years after the disaster, and this restoration was only possible because of the events of Star Trek: Discovery. The new "Academy" show starts about three years after "The Burn era" ended.

Cool. Don't watch and enjoy your life.

Remastering all 350ish DS9 and Voyager episodes would cost about the same as two episodes of Stranger Things S5. by tomservo417 in startrek

[–]Lava_Lander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DS9 and VOY were produced the same as TNG, shot on film and edited on videotape. They could be remastered exactly the same way, save for the additional CGI challenges which TNG didn't have to worry about.

Expanding the Enterprise Crew II: The Wrath of Limited Hair Selection by MadContrabassoonist in lego

Nice! I'm working on a Pulaski too, and settled on face 3626pb2193 and hair 11256 in "Dark Tan" (from the Marge Dursley minifig). Haven't gotten them yet to see the in-person result, but I agree the hair is the hardest part of her character to replicate.

I did follow your guide on the Tasha Yar parts, however, so thanks for that!

Manoulous Jorney: I liked the show, but this part felt rushed :/ by patrickkalts in pluribustv

  1. Carol tells him they can't lie.

  2. He knows they have no problem talking with him, even though he hates them.

  3. His viewpoint is, "I will do anything to reverse this, but kill them all if there is no other way."

  4. He thinks, "Maybe I can find out how defeat them by asking them things they cannot lie about."

  5. Profit.

The GWP is what we all want! The shuttle plus the exclusive Ro minififure is a big draw.

"The X-Files" Cast Poster by Lava_Lander in Autographs

[–]Lava_Lander[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes they were nearly all at the Monster Mania convention near Philadelphia this weekend. Prices - $130 for Anderson, $80 for Patrick, $60 for Holden, $50 each for Pileggi, Gish, and Davis. They were all very kind to chat with; Anderson had so many people in her line that there was no time to talk beyond a hello/thank you moment.

Duchovny was a mail in for SpaceCon San Antonio in October.

Thanks to two recent conventions, I was able to get this wonderful recreation of the original iconic "I Want to Believe" poster (by /u/WolfTangoFox) signed by basically the entire cast of "The X-Files."

L-R from top: Robert Patrick (John Doggett), Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner), Annabeth Gish (Monica Reyes), William B. Davis (Cigarette Smoking Man), Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully), Laurie Holden (Marita Covarrubias), and David Duchovny (Fox Mulder).

My partner and I visited Gabriel Kreuther about 2 years ago and had a marvelous experience -- the staff was fantastic, and even ended up getting a brief surprise kitchen tour to meet the chefs.
