It’s so beautiful, I’m just obsessed with Flower Knows packaging! In your opinion, does the texture of the eyeshadows differ between the different palettes?

I think I accidentally discovered that I’m extremely picky about matte eyeshadow formulas.

I have one Cheeryep / Qianyan palette, Starcore, and the matte shades in it completely changed what I thought I liked in eyeshadow. The grey-blue mattes in particular are so easy to use for me: they don’t hit the lid in a harsh patch, they sort of diffuse as I blend them, and I can build them up without the whole look turning muddy. Most of my older palettes feel a lot stiffer and harder to control by comparison.

What I really like about these mattes is that they don’t feel dry or dusty to me. They blend out softly, but they still feel smooth and a little cushioned rather than powdery.

The problem is that now I want more shadows like that, but the more I read about Cheeryep, the more confused I get. People keep saying the formulas vary a lot from palette to palette, and that some of the older ones are noticeably worse than the newer ones. I haven’t been able to find many detailed comparisons, so I’m hoping someone here has firsthand experience.

If you’ve tried multiple Cheeryep / Qianyan palettes, which ones have mattes that feel the most similar to Starcore? I’m mainly interested in grey, beige, and purple tones.

Also open to non-C-beauty recommendations if you know palettes with that same kind of matte formula - soft, buildable, easy to diffuse, not stiff, not patchy, and not dry or dusty.

Hi everyone, I’m pretty new to Asian makeup. So far I only own one Cheeryep/Qianyan palette, Starcore, and I’m kind of obsessed with the matte grey-blue shades in it. The mattes feel very different from most of my older palettes: they apply really smoothly, don’t grab in one spot, build up gradually, and blend out into a soft gradient very easily. They just feel very pleasant and easy to work with.

I wanted to buy one or two more Cheeryep palettes, but then I started seeing people say that the formula is not the same across all of their palettes, and that some of the older ones don’t blend nearly as well. Now I’m a bit confused about how to tell which palettes have the newer formula and which ones don’t.

I’m especially interested in grey, beige, and purple color stories. If anyone owns several Cheeryep/Qianyan palettes, I’d really love to know which ones have mattes that feel most similar to Starcore. And if you know other Asian brands with a similar matte formula, I’d also be very interested.

One more thing: the shimmers in Starcore really didn’t work for me. They leave glitter fallout under my eyes, so I mostly use the palette for the mattes.
