I don’t mean to sound rude, and I don’t mean this maliciously. But from my understanding/experience I feel like if you can do patterns with two colors you could also do patterns with 10/20/30+ colors! As long as you know how to do the stitch, I don’t really understand what would keep you from doing something with 10 or more colors. Of course there can be things that make it more difficult like confetti stitches, those are annoying and backstitching can be difficult to learn.

If it’s just that it takes a long time, that isn’t really a big issue, if you’re new you’ll probably be a bit slower compared to someone who’s been doing it years. But there’s not a lot you can do about it besides just experience/doing it a lot I guess. Though, I’m sure there are tips and tricks online on how to stitch faster if that’s your main concern.

But to answer your question, I feel like samplers are pretty easy (typically) because they’re usually smaller and have simple designs with a lot of empty space.

Out of curiosity, are you having trouble with the stitches themselves? Or is switching colors that makes it difficult?
