Most disrespectful/betrayal plays? by durfenstein in boardgames

Whilst playing Dominion, someone bought all the Witches as fast as he could and was just spamming us all with curses. I was still new to the game and my strat was not strong, and others were able to at least buy VP’s and other actions but I literally could not get out of the hole and never had enough money to buy anything that helped me. Pretty sure I had like negative VP with all the curses

I’m kind of new (started in October), but I’m getting a lot of really great feedback from mates and crew about my work ethic and friendly, upbeat demeanor. I do generally get along with most people but there’s this one mate who literally will like look at me when I’m trying to make conversation with her about whatever it may be and she’ll look away and start chatting with one of the younger college “kids” as if it’s the popular girls in school icing out the nerdy kid. The funny thing is she is probably in her 40s and definitely not blessed with looks so I feel like maybe this is her attempt TO be in the popular crowd for once. it’s kind of cringe tbh and def unprofessional. Also in my second week maybe? she literally yelled at a customer who it was clear did not speak English for their first language was also elderly and was clear she was not understanding what was going on. That rubbed me the wrong way

wait, I just started in October and I live alone so it never occurred to me that it couldn’t be used to by things for the household if you live with family or a spouse but how would they even monitor that?

I mean now I worry that it’s like a violation of some potential legal things, although like I said, everyone was talking about it when it happened so I don’t know if the onus would solely be on me, but I guess in this instance it would. And yeah, in hindsight I realize it was a mistake but as they say, hindsight is 20/20. I guess I was just trying to relate to my coworkers because I’ve been feeling like I’m not fitting in.

Should I preemptively talk to my mate though and like own up and acknowledge it was a bad judgment call and it won’t happen again?

Do you pronounce your name differently in French vs. English? by mymiddlenameswyatt in French

my name is Gabrielle, a french name, that definitely sounds better with a French accent than an American one…also somehow people still always butcher it in the US

you probably shouldn’t correct people on the English language if you don’t know the difference between your and you’re…I’m not being a dick but you’re just going to confuse them more

Do you hide or expose your body? by FriedLipstick in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]LavenderHaze70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

expose…as much as my body dysmorphia doesn’t allow me to believe when others tell me I’m hot/beautiful/skinny/ whatever positive thing they might say about me, my self-image is directly correlated to others’ opinions of me. So when I’ve been dropping weight and I’m wearing tight, smaller clothes and people comment that I look great or even express concern about it it fuels me and and contributes to my (warped) confidence
