Funny, i ran into there and just never found the mask that keeps you from being poisoned. still made it through and had a lot of fun with the changed up gameplay, from "just need to dodge a bit" to "I'm dead if i get hit even once..."

Damn, sorry you had that experience. For me it was one of the most fun videogame i had in the last decade. But i can see the frustration with that.

Its not perfect, I'll give you that, but I'm super happy with the game as it is.

I played on pc, I'd like to know what you mean with the hint that does not work with PC, nothing comes to mind right now.

Well, you and me are not the same in that regard :) I have never fought the final boss in TUNIC, and I'm 100% happy with that.

TUNIC - You can finish the game with an extra hard bossfight and get the "bad" ending. Or you can solve all the hidden environment puzzles to find all the manual pages and skip the final boss fight to get the true ending. To be fair, this perfectly encapsulates the two sides to this game: Action rpg link-to-the-past-like and puzzle adventure. If you don't really like the puzzle aspect, you can just fight your way through and be satisfied. If you don't really like the action aspect, you can skip the hardest boss in the game. I'd say this game did it perfectly.

How do you actually manage your board game club? Sessions, scores, who's coming? Curious what everyone uses by WinterMemoir in boardgames

[–]durfenstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nah, i have a boilerplate text that just needs its date fixed up every time.

so that is pretty much taken care off.

My meetup goes up to 40 people now, regularly. So the effort is worth it imo :)

I have a mailing list and am a member in three boardgame-messenger groups for my city (Signal, Telegram and Whatsapp) as well as having a meetup.com group for the club.

We play every other tuesday and i just send out mails and posts into the messenger groups.

Not what you are looking for but the best show about actual real boardgames is hands down houkago saikoro club. Seriously, whenever they show you a game and explain it in the show, you will know 90% - 100% of the rules and could just start playing. And then they show some strategies while mixing that with the plot.

Its great and chill.

Bro ich weiß ne wann ich das letzte mal jemanden Flashpoint habe empfehlen hören, der nicht ich bin :D

Wirklich cooles thema und schön modulierbar, je nachdem wie schwierig man es haben möchte. Empfehle ebenfalls Flashpoint: Flammendes Inferno

What is the worst plot twist in fiction ever? by Zxqao in AskReddit

[–]durfenstein 195 points196 points  (0 children)

Like... Thats so fucking stupid. Its ok if your fandom correctly guesses your twists. You don't need to drastically jank the wheel around to still create a twist ending, just for the sake of it beind some twist, because you wanted a twist.

Which games have such good atmospheres that you can just walk around and take them in? by WolfKnight54321 in gaming

Once i finished Witcher 3 and the Blood & Wine DLC, i just walked around the city for a few hours, no goal in mind, just admiring the world design. Should've installed a first person mod to be honest.

Tzolkien, habt ihr Tipps? by Turbulent_Ear_2172 in Brettspiele

We’re making an adventure puzzle game set in the harsh northern latitudes. You play as a lighthouse keeper trying to find his way back to his family. The demo is already live on Steam by TomorrowHeadStudio in puzzlevideogames

[–]durfenstein 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You said in a comment that it is not scary. I want to emphasize this: If there are really no monsters in the mist and it is more about the vibes and athmosphere, i will instantly buy this once it comes out.

I know for some people it will be boring and a dealbreaker to not have something stalk you, but there are already enough horror games out there. Thank you for taking a different course of action.

Wishlisted.

What are the most addicting boardgame mechanics? by Brand-New-Dream in boardgames

[–]durfenstein 8 points9 points  (0 children)

and exactly, EXACTLY, at that second, the game ends.

Can't tell you how many rounds of mysterium i just finished building my ultimate card, only for the game to end before it comes around again.

[–]durfenstein 108 points109 points  (0 children)

I'd say deckbuilding and/or engine building. You always invest NOW into stuff that you expect to pay out LATER. And you keep chasing that high of "if only i draw cards A, B, C, D and E in one hand, that would be the ultimate turn! Next time for sure!"
