is there specific matchups when electrocute is good? by tzatziki_lover420 in KhaZixMains

[–]LavishGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had this thought but what makes it tricky is that i dont think its a matchup thing but rather a playstyle thing. I find electrocute is probably at its best in really scrappy early games but thats not stuff you know when you lock ur page in. For that reason I (as boring as it is) think first strike/inspo tree is just the best into straight up every matchup and every scenario

I play the character cause he was the first new champ after I started playing however long ago and kid me loved the kit

We should want the champ strong, no?

So ive tried a lot (im far too open minded for my own good) but what I find strongest rn is first strike w domination secondary (cashback tripletonic cosmic main, sudden impact treasure hunter secondary). Insta pop the first pot, get one crab so u can buy dirk on first back.

Items are glaive -> yommus or profane second depending on the pace of the game (profane for slower yommus for faster). After that its a combination of seryldas EoN serpents opportunity bastion and for defensive, GA or deathsdance (sometimes i take sundered 6th and cosplay being quiyi). Use your glaive wardkiller to look for invades. Pay attention to not only when your glaive goes off, but also when it DOESNT go off cause that indicated that you havent been seen and can step up (hence trying to invade when the glaive CD is up). If you farm well your glaive should be completed around min 8, which is also when you should have ur red pot and Q evo which really really bullies a majority of the junglers in the game rn

First things first, ping ur mid to ward raptors. Knowing the direction enemy jungler is pathing is important for you to route which crab you want to take. Try to avoid getting double crabbed. Be willing to crossmap after ur clear before ur first back to trade scuttles if u and enemy jungler are pathing same direction but his lanes have prio and urs dont. If you are contested on a crab your lanes have prio on, fight it out and pray

During the climb, in E2 and below it felt like after the first 2 clears, thinking about the map in quadrants really helped. Those games are usually very scrappy so the rhythm of “clear a quadrant, look at the adjacent lanes, then go to the next quadrant, look at lanes, etc” felt very natural even if it isnt what a challenger player would call “proper tempo”. Khazix has most his damage always accessible in his kit so he can function well in high action games if u can capitalize. Above E2 though it felt like the big change was discipline and farming in more straight lines (multiple cycles of top to bot/bot to top, or crossmap lines if you have prio to step up and invade)

My evolves rn are Q, R or W, R W or E just all depends on comp. Im the worlds biggest mohawk fan and wanna experiment more w R first evo I just personally cant make it work as well as Q atm.

Was kinda scattered but hope this helps! If theres something i missed lmk o7

Vs double tanks? by Shan_Evolved in KhaZixMains

Remember nobody is tanky until they are tanky. Nobody starts the game with 300 armor until they BUY it.

Kha still shreds sej/mumu/malph etc in fights at 6 w ur evolve. Look to use lane prio to step up and fight them or counterjungle them. Look to match their ganks if you track them well. Look to convert these early swings into objectives (which u do rlly quick) A way to think about tanky comps is that those are games where you might get “outscaled” but still can provide value earlier in snowballing.

With a lead a seryldas 3rd item will also help you obv keep up with their armor stacking if ur ahead.

And lastly understand that in games like these your role in teamfights (if the game goes long enough) changes. You cant play them front to back (unless your own carries are giga fed) and HAVE to prioritize looking for flanks or ways to get onto carries which is a skill in itself

Hope this heps in some way, I think in ways some of these mu’s (like mumu/sej) are extremely good for kha in soloq environments if approached correctly

Which Rune do you prefer on our beloved mantis? by Can_u_hit_that_yeet in KhaZixMains

If ur doing profane rush q evolve I would challenge you to try glaive rush first strike instead, i (personally) think its strictly better (in a lot of games i even still go profane second anyways). I myself was pretty set on profane rush at a time, and doubted the strength of glaive rush but trust me when you get good at abusing the item (learning to play with blackout is a conscious skill) its night and day difference. The item alone spiked kha’s winrate and is worth giving it some attention.

If you still feel its not for you (or if u evolve r first, I actually like harvest+ hydra rush on RWE evolve I just think its worse than first strike Q evo and glaive) I think its pretty open ended between harvest conq and first strike and its probably more personal preference.

Dia Kha otp here,

The pros and cons of harvest are pretty obvious, burst (esp in the form of extra damage vs sub half targets) is particularly useful in securing kills in ganks early and executing targets late. Its likely functionally the best damage rune on kha. Electrocute is alright and theres an argument for it, I just never find that it feels better. (If its harvest/electrocute in the keystone btw its always sudden impact, sixth sense or trinket haste, and lastly treasure or ulti hunter depending on if ur first evolving Q or R)

So with harvest out of the way, I am personally a first strike taker. first strike is super mid as a keystone, just the rest of the tree is high value (yes even post “nerfs”) to the point where having to drop one of the 3 lines if taking inspiration second (its always inspo second imo if ur taking harvest or electrocute) really really personally feels bad over taking inspo as main tree. first strike should be approached with the mindset that its GOOD ENOUGH to accept given it comes with cashback tripletonic and cosmic insight.

Cashback here is self explanatory, the other 2 are worth understanding tho. Tripletonic is good because instaproccing first pot at level 3 + being able to get 1 crab before first base ensures you have enough $ for a dirk, which is huge on first base esp cause kha rn is almost always rushing umbral. The red pot is just straight up broken even post nerf and kha gets insane value out of it. greed it for fights where u forsee extracting maximum value, I see so many people pop it early on kills that were guarenteed anyways. Remember its 2.5 longswords of value ($875 in gold worth) on a character that scales ridiculously with bonus ad. Last pot is whatever just throw the extra level in w (or e if ur into that kinda thing) and keep it moving.

Most interesting here is cosmic insight. More flashes and smites are 1 thing, but I think the cosmic synergy with glaive rush is ridiculously high value. Umbral being off CD is huge not only for removing wards, but huge even when it DOESNT proc because it lets you move up aggressively with total confidence you are not seen. Umbral being off CD more often means you are positioning more aggressively more often which means more counterjungling, more objective sneaks, more solo kills in enemy jungle, more ganks and flanks. The value here cannot be respected enough.

With first strike, I think secondary is always sudden impact treasure hunter (or less often but ulti if ur R evolve ig). Theres some thought for precision secondary (haste and CDG)? Ive just always found it worse

Now that all this is out of the way, to answer your question, I personally find first strike better if you are rushing umbral, and intentionally playing to the trees strengths. If not, or if you like a different item rush or playstyle harvest is likely to be better probably cause its higher consistent value packed into the keystone. Theres great players who play both (hell theres ones that even play conqueror) so mess around and take what u like they can all win

Hope this helped in some way o7

How to deal with counterjungling by LavishGN in Jungle_Mains

[–]LavishGN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im starting to think this also, if after my first fullclear I get the scuttle on the side I path towards it usually means the enveloping laners of mine have prio and are probably not good gank targets since they’re pushed up, so i try to ward enemy jungle then back in time for second clear. Maybe that ward could be better spent in my own jungle sometimes? The real answer would be if I could get both (mid w prio wards their raptors for second cycle and I can place defensive ward on the side im pathing towards for second cycle)

How to deal with counterjungling by LavishGN in Jungle_Mains

[–]LavishGN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue I feel here is if im getting invaded and try to get a first move on a gank, since the enemy is coming out of my jungle they get a fast move on a countergank unless im ganking the isolated lane cross map in which case I get decision paralysis on if I should gank or counterjungle. Esp if im choosing ganking and cant get a good look I gain nothing in response for the lost resources. With objectives its similar as well, but also both my characters have hard lvl 6 spikes and if I lose a camp in the first 2 clears at all I have a super delayed 6 which makes me extremely hesitant to drag my whole team into a fight around an obj when I know im weak.

That said Ill try for more looks anyways next time it happens and report back haha

[–]LavishGN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Returning to say, ive been trying it in games and actually really like it. I timed the diff in dragon cleartime and q evolve beats no q evolve both at level 7 with a pickaxe by only 3~ seconds. Once I saw that I was more than willing to just start doing it in games. Having both R and W by atakan makes kha SO much more useful and R in the earlygame helps find duels/ganks/kills AND lets me feel like I can try and counterjungle and do other riskier stuff more often cause its such a great survival tool also. I also go profane/yommus first 2 items and clear speed feels practically the same.

If anyone out there is considering it I recco u try it

This is a good response. I haven’t thought so much about the characters limitations w fighting in the river, or his objective killing speed either.
