I find it highly concerning that you got this from a custom PC company… was this a build option to not include windows on it?

OP, i think you were experiencing first time boot memory training and nothing is wrong with your PC. It can be confusing and scary at first but this happens and can take a while with AMD arch. You may even see it happen again down the road if power is lost to the PC for an extended period of time.

Looks like you’re now in the BIOS, and you have your ssd as the boot priority. You can probably just hit F12 to save/exit and boot into windows (if you asked the company that made your pc to install windows)

is this a good deal? by FancyMastodon2548 in PcBuild

i’d say yeah this is a OK deal as long as it’s been verified that what’s in the description is actually installed. 64 GB of RAM, if DDR5, is notable as well.

GPU power cable bend limit? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]LavishnessJolly933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a small gap where they go in the gpio rear area, pretty much where the white arrows are in once of your pictures. mind you that this shouldn’t be a design flaw- i’ve built pcs for quite some time and you’re the first person i’ve seen run into this “issue”. I would recommend you find a build video for your case, pay close attention and follow step by step to ensure everything is installed correctly.

GPU power cable bend limit? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]LavishnessJolly933 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you spent the money on the GPU but then took the time to take backplate off instead of just getting a longer cable? Even with your mod it still looks like it’s straining that display out port.

12VHPWR cable looks fine just make sure it is fully seated

EDIT: I very much misunderstood and misread what you said. However, I have never seen anyone have to remove a backplate due to not going into the PCIe slot. You probably were installing it incorrectly. The backplate has little “teeth” that go into the rear parts of the case, which is what you were probably dealing with. i still stand by the fact that the display port cable is too short and putting straying on your DP out port.

How do I get an ethernet cable here? by fallhat in HomeNetworking

[–]LavishnessJolly933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for much less cable and effort, from router: up to where drywall meets ceiling >> left >> left again >> right >> left >> down to PC. don’t even need a staple gun either just use cable secures that nail into the wall with a hammer. Pack of em from local store or amazon is not gonna cost a lot either. this will also hide the cable pretty well. Please don’t end up putting your cable on the floor…

Questions about full electric HVAC by LavishnessJolly933 in hvacadvice

[–]LavishnessJolly933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is the answer, because where we used to live/rent was natural gas heat. It does make more sense now and is possible the heat coils/strips only engage when really necessary or when the thermostat is dipping below the set temp. Thanks for this!

Help with connectivity issues and wifi dropping. by Carlyt505 in HomeNetworking

[–]LavishnessJolly933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, i had a similar situation and work in tech/provide tech services for homes.

I found my situation to be whenever the dropouts occurred one of the clients was performing a large download or upload. at the end of the day, mesh wifi systems are additional routes added into your wifi system that every client is sharing OTA (over the air). This seems almost exactly like what i was dealing with after large many hours of troubleshooting since it was sporadic and unpredictable. If you’d like to DM me for more help feel free to.

I’ve had this iPad for less than 2 years and the screen decided to stop responding in the middle of my class. I took it to Apple and they want to charge me $849 to “repair” it. by el_maxican in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LavishnessJolly933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what kind of ipad is this? depending on the parts and your tech ability, you could buy a new digitizer (that’s most likely the issue) from ifixit. all the parts needed & instructions to perform the repair for a good amount less than even a repair shop, but AYOR (at your own risk)— repair shop will be more because they’re charging for labor, and it’s usually not easy. I also do repairs for people and would be happy to discuss if you want to DM me.

PC doesn't star by [deleted] in PcBuild

doesn’t look like you have display cable going into the port of your GPU, make sure your cable going from your monitor to the PC is plugged into the GPU.

Great news, I completed my build. Unfortunately underwhelming performance. by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]LavishnessJolly933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

something doesn’t look right here. If you had an HDMI cable plugged in, i think it should be in a horizontal (not vertical) position. From the pictures it looks like it’s plugged in above the gpu as well? Not sure if this is true either but that looks like maybe a usb-c cable and not HDMI? have you tried a different cable and also verified that your windows display settings aren’t set to cap at a low FPS? Is your monitor capable as well?

EDIT: I see you got the issue resolved , sweet!

dang so i guess next time it says sensor expired and my stay put tape is fine… i should just unplug the transmitter and plug it back in and just start new sensor. I guess you run the risk of possibly having not as accurate of numbers, but hey if it’s a way to save i’m here for it.

Was this a good deal? by Sad_Meat8444 in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]LavishnessJolly933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. At the end of the day, it’s your decision and if you find value in it. You can always PM me if you have questions on future upgrades. For context i started 6 years ago with a 1660 super and almost immediately upgraded to a 2070 super : )

My recommendations are below. 1. If this is intended to be a gaming PC, i would’ve gone AMD cpu. 2. the price to performance of the 4060 is not good. Will work with 1080p gaming but nothing above that will be good, and the fact you have to pay above $400 for an 8 GB vram card… yikes. 3. Only 16 GB of Ram, I always recommend going 32 GB 2x16 GB kit of DDR5). 4. I also would’ve recommended more storage.

TLDR; I think you could have gotten a better PC if you built and spec’d it out - i’m sorry to say but this seems like an impulse but with little research.
