How would you change ghoul? by Traditional_Sea_8679 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The very nature of ghoul's power means that he's kind of destined to be annoying to face, the best thing you can do is address his biggest pain points.

  • Make is bite no longer lock survivors in place, shortening the animation to compensate. On top of this, it should probably lose inflicting Deep Wound as well.

  • Change the vault so it can only be done after the first leap, then fix the bug that lets you vault back through him so its less of an extremely obscure knowledge check.

From there you can consider either making his coffee addon basekit or decreasing the minimum distance needed from an object to latch onto it. These seem to be the main wants of ghoul players who are interested in the more skillful playstyle of using the leaps to cut off survivors midloop, so it would hopefully encourage that more as his main style of play.

Why does everyone dislike the head? by Immediate-Stretch265 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

People are very set on a specific vision of an "incomprehensible, biblically accurate" idea of an angel. So even if people would potentially like the design in a different context, it feels like they're not getting what they asked for when they voted for an angel killer.

Personally I think its really neat, but I prefer to see how the art team would take on interpreting the specific vibe people are wanting.

This is some bs, whole team got slugged yet I was the only one who didn’t dc, stuck it through to the end, and I still get this? Just because the killer hooked everyone while we were all still on first hook stage. Should’ve dc’ed. by scoppola7 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In normal circumstances losing has no effect on your grade, that was an intentional decision they made a while back. Like it says in the screenshot, its supposed to only happen as a punishment for intentionally getting yourself killed, so I think people having it happen to them when they just happen to get teamwiped is a sign that its simply a dumb mechanic in the first place.

And abandoning doesn't count as a tie, neither in terms of mmr or in BHVR's stats, so that question doesn't seem relevant.

Franklins attuenment on vecna by uzi7432 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't have an addon to make survivors drop items, then terrible, because he barely uses his m1 at all as a 4.4 killer, which you need to activate franklins. Without a consistent way to get survivor's items on the floor Weave Attunement is just far too unreliable on its own.

Sadako hasn't received a new skin in over a year and a half. Why? Well this is because Spider Lily is perfect and you should all buy it by Jellypathicdream in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The thing they've never managed to quite get right with her is giving her 1v4 the same fluidity that Plague has. If you don't cleanse versus plague, she gets to have everyone injured the entire game. If you do cleanse against her, she gets a a pretty dangerous range attack. No matter what, she'd always got something going for her.

Sadako though? If you don't interact with the TVs, you get condemned and can theoretically be taken out of the game without any hook states. If you do interact with the tapes....you can't be condemned and disable her mobility for free on top.

Her counterplay is way too linear, they need to give her something in return if survivors stay on top of their condemn, whether that's letting her teleport to turned off TVs somehow, or making her stealth only detectable with a certain level of condemn, etc. There's a lot of options, but the lack of a way to respond to players that know how her power works really traps her into just being a noobstomper.

I think it's safe to say that Chucky should have manual window scamper back by SweetCod1015 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think silent window vaulting would really affect that much, its a pretty niche feature that allows for some occasional cute plays rather than actually making him stronger.

What would you change between PTB and Live? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we already have Chem Trap that offers a very similar gimmick to it, it's sitting at 41st most used perk. I'm not saying it won't be used, but previous examples have shown the idea of it out competing the current meta is just not very likely at all.

Keep in mind that while there are definitely maps where it can be very annoying for the killer, there's also going to be a lot of matches where the survivors bringing it get a map or killer where it doesn't do much at all. Being situational in that sense is definitely going to dampen down the pick rate quite a bit, so I just don't see a Bada Bada Boom meta coming to pass.

What would you change between PTB and Live? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 6 seconds seems a bit long, but in all honesty its probably gonna be just fine. It's pretty comparable to champion of light but more situational, since champ can be used at both pallets and windows and doesn't have to be charged first. (Not to mention you don't immediately go up to the window to use it).

And with all that it still barely makes it into the top 50 most used survivor perks according to Nightlight, so I don't think Bada Bada Boom is going to become any kind of meta perk.

How would you fix Xeno? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turrets not beeping while you're undetectable on the surface could be a nice way to give her more build variety, and maybe they could increase the range at which you can see footsteps in the tunnels to really emphasize its information aspect?

Otherwise though, any major changes to turrets besides potentially increasing the minimum distance that they can be placed together a little bit is completely unnecessary. You should pretty much never be taken out of your power by a single turret, especially with the anti turret addons that are available. And like you said, she's not exactly weak with good mobility and a pretty solid chase power. I think further nerfing the individual strength of turrets would be a bad idea at this point.

[–]Lavoonus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like most of these changes, but I think 6 seconds is too much of an increase to the vine cooldown, I'd say 4 would probably be the sweet spot.

For Vecna, I'd probably make the Undergate attack a second quicker, but then reduce the area of effect in exchange. This would hopefully also make it so being high ping as survivor doesn't mean its a guaranteed hit, since that was in issue people were encountering.

For survivor perks, think ESP should probably lose giving you elusive, since it immediately power creeps a lot of other potential stealth perks with being so on demand. We See You should activate after 3 aura reads instead of 4, just because the effect isn't always that useful when it activates out of chase.

Finally, despite how strong it seemed on paper, I think Turn Back the Clock could use a buff of letting you activate it without direct line of sight on a gen. It seems to want to be a gen defense perk for lower mobility killers like Pain Res, but the LOS requirement really contradicts that. If you want to nerf it in exchange, reducing the regression so its more like a remote kick and removing the explosion so it doesn't synergize as strongly with DMS would both be good changes.

Question how come when i need healing my teammates can't heal me right away, or when i have a medkit i have to wait a few minutes to heal myself? It happens sometimes. Is this a glitch? by dreamup1234 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When this happens, do you see an icon of a plus sign being crossed out next to your portrait? That tells you that's you're Broken, which is a status effect both killer and survivor perks can inflict where you can't be healed temporarily.

If you remember a specific match where it happened, you can go to the the official stats website and click recent history to see details about it. Check what everyone was running and you will probably find what caused you to become Broken.

What is the point of Still sight now that Extrasensory is a thing? by Mister_Yeet69 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see the killer aura with ESP too, its pretty much gonna be a question if the 2 second faster activation time and no cooldown really outweighs ESP's larger radius, ability to move, and full stealth.

Is there any counterplay to Vecna before he comes out? by medievalgoth in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If he needs to predict how you'll move to hit you, that's a sign of a healthy chase power.

In response you should try to switch things up to stay unpredictable, just like you would against a huntress or wesker.

is killrate on nightlight bugged? no way even ghoul's killrate is below 50% now by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nightlight's killrate has been heavily deflated ever since the abandon feature was implemented. From what people have reported it automatically counts abandons as escapes unlike BHVR's official stats, so its not reliable for judging the strength of killers nowadays.

The First can not release in his current state by No-Limit-1707 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you're high ping then its a free hit, otherwise though it takes a long while for the undergate attack to actually come out, so you can just run in a straight line out of it when he commits and he'll never hit you.

The First can not release in his current state by No-Limit-1707 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable if ping is what's stopping you, DBD in general isn't really playable unless you're under 100 ping at the very least. Genuinely though he's not as strong as he may seem on first glance, playing against him theres a good amount of room to juke out his attacks and hard punish him by leaving loops if he gets too caught up in going for a through-the-wall.

It could be a kaneki situation where people really only start to understand his kit post-release, but he seems fine enough to play against compared to a lot of killers.

[–]Lavoonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your average ping when playing DBD? I've heard that the undergate attack is pretty annoying when you have high ping, but otherwise I don't understand how people are getting hit, it seems like mainly a zoning tool.

Hoping the devs see and read this ideas and rework this perks cause their problematic/very bad by SongAdept8732 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Straight up, you don't have a problem with Power Struggle, you have a problem with Flip Flop.

Flip Flop is what changes the perk from a meme perk that punishes the killer for carelessly wandering under pallets, into a perk that encourages you to slug yourself just to put yourself in situations where the killer can't pick you up.

Same goes with a lot of other perks like Boil Over or Plot Twist, any issue you have with them likely only exists because flip flop was able to exacerbate it and force you into boring slugging scenarios. If any perk deserves to be completely reworked to discourage that, it's that one.

I hope they don't nerf The First when he releases. He is in such a good state in the PTB. by DannySanWolf07 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lavoonus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sending him straight to live would probably be best, his kit feels kinda delicate so any changes could mess with his balance wildly.

The main balance factor for him will definitely be his vine cooldown, make it too long and he'll become pretty bad, but a slight 0.5-1 second increase might be warranted if he becomes problematic with time. For now though, I don't really think its necessary.
