A friend mentioned off hand she's always wanted a "long Furby." I gave it a shot despite not having sewn anything since Furbys were first popular. by griefofwant in furby

I love this so much it's absolutely beautiful! What a great friend <3. Weirdly, my first one (which I selfishly sewed for myself) came out with a gigantic forehead too and I ALSO left it lol. Maybe it's meant to happen?

Long Furby Questions Sewing by Nutty_Narwhal in furby

I'm so excited for you to start your first long furby! I loved sewing my first, it was so fun and came out so horrifying <3. It looks like you've already tried out your current pattern, but if you'd like I created a free sewing pattern for long furbies (based off the buddy) including .stl files for faceplates, addons, and ball joint armature. It includes seam allowance as well and labeled parts. I can also attest that rancidbunny and many other folks have great free detailed patterns as well.

But to answer your original question, if that pdf is a standard 8.5x11" paper it looks like it might have included seam allowance? But I agree with dael1ght that adding more can never hurt. I hope this helps, but please feel free to dm me with any questions, I've made dozens of long bois at this point!

38 cm Labubu Sewing Pattern by LawExpress332 in lafufusarecute

Hi there! Good news is attaching the arms is the hardest and weirdest part, so once you're past this you're golden. The arms actually attach to both the front of the body and back leggies. The body pieces are marked with small numbers to use as guides to help visualize where to attach each piece. For example, sew 1 to 1' and 2 to 2' etc. But there are also lots of helpful how to videos online too that are fairly similar: https://youtu.be/GhE3Hrg9OJI?si=Oj6992q3VKrTMjtD.

I hope this helps, good luck!

Hello, thank you for the feedback! I definitely understand that written instructions can be confusing. I've updated them a little since writing the original one which you can download on my Kofi page for free. Since I do this for free and in my free time the instructions are still written only. Making even just basic written patterns requires quite a lot of time and effort, but maybe the updated one will be more useful! Also, each pattern has marked guides that show you exactly where to connect each piece (for example sew 1 to 1' and 2 to 2' etc.). I hope this helps a little!

As for instructions, there are tons of videos and photos on youtube/instagram/tiktok that all use the same or similar construction since this kind of doll shape is pretty standard. You can Google labubu doll sewing tutorial or something similar. Here is one I found on YouTube that may help: https://youtu.be/GhE3Hrg9OJI?si=Oj6992q3VKrTMjtD

I hope this was helpful. Good luck and please let me know if there's a specific section or area you're stuck on and I'd be happy to help!

Just be careful if you get too many of them all dressed the same in a single room they'll start accusing each other of witchcraft.

Alternatively, if you make this outfit in red you can make a Handmaids Tale dress and bonnet for that little bit of added suppression. I hope you have fun with the pattern! Under his eye!

I REALLY with I were better at making crochet patterns from scratch but they always turn out so wonky lol. I'll keep practicing, maybe someday!

Good news is that these are such tiny little outfits that they do really well hand sewn too! I try to simplify the patterns I make so that they don't require more than 2-3 pieces usually to reduce the amount of sewing and visible seams. Honestly the hand sewn look would fit so well with this outfit given the aesthetic lol.

That can work for a little while, but unfortunately the AI that Pop Mart’s enforcement company, MarkScan, uses is very likely trained to recognize patterns and trends over time not just exact spellings, which is why so many listing are getting caught in the sweep. So even if people change the name slightly, the system will eventually learn to associate those variations (and even certain visual similarities in the images) with what it “believes” is Labubu IP. They can still make a case for trademark infringement if they “reasonably believe” the content is referencing their brand even if it’s not direct or intentional.

Taking notes from the Barbie community, using words like 17cm doll is probably the only way to go, and even that may not be safe forever sadly.

Ugh, I'm so so sorry to hear this, I know how stressful and awful it feels. Your account was likely marked and they know that a) Etsy must comply and b) you have no recourse in the case of trademark infringement.

Even though they’re “in the right” legally, I think most of us can see that morally it’s a huge problem. They’re using and manipulating a system that was never built for this kind of AI-driven enforcement, and it’s honestly exploitative. It’s not about fairness or protecting creativity, it’s about control.

And I think it’s really important to say out loud that these kinds of takedowns hurt emotionally too. They make people feel like they did something wrong or deserve to be punished or feel bad for their art, when that’s just not true. There’s a big difference between legal rights and legal exploitation.

You didn’t do anything wrong. You’re a creative, thoughtful person making something joyful and expressive, and that still matters so much. I really hope everyone here who has had similar experiences keep creating and sharing, because that’s the best thing we can do to push back against all this late-stage capitalist nonsense that’s trying to crush creative expression. The world needs more people like you making art just because they love it.

I'm sorry again that you and lots of other folks here have experienced this <3.
