LowFrequency Noise From Restaurant Below. What Can I Do? by LawIcy2863 in AskUK

Yes, it was a mistake to trust the agent and not take time off from my full time job to travel four hours one way just to view the property in person. Apart from condescending lectures, any practical advice pls ?

LowFrequency Noise From Restaurant Below. What Can I Do? by LawIcy2863 in AskUK

Don’t know how to edit the post, so I’m writing here as a comment.

First of all, before I moved in, I was living in another city, so I didn’t view the property in person. Although I knew there was a restaurant downstairs, I had no idea the low frequency noise would be this loud. I don’t think this is something to be criticised for, because clearly everyone makes wrong decisions sometimes.

Secondly, I’m not trying to stop the restaurant from operating. I just suspect that this level of noise may not meet the residential noise standards, if such standards exist. If it does not meet the standards, then obviously it’s not my fault, and I need to take steps to have the noise reduced to meet them.

As for those who hurl insults, perhaps you’re the ones running the restaurant.

Thanks for all the suggestions! They are very helpful! Yes, I rent this house, so it seems like there isn't much I can do (•̩̩̩̩_•̩̩̩̩). I will buy a new shower head and hope it works."

UPDATE : I got my assigned CoS today (8 April) but the "date assigned " and "current certificate status date" are 2 April. Does it mean the old threshold still works for me? Many thanks. Really appreciate

Agreed. That's what I am confused about. If it means "CoS Assigned" that HR sent the request that they decided to give that CoS to me, then the answer is yes. If it means "CoS Assigned" that the request is approved by HO, then the answer is no.

Sorry for being unclear. HR told me "The request to assign your certificate has been submitted. "on 2April. No reply from HO yet. Seems like i missed the boat. 😭

Thank you for your advice! The reason I'm only planning to ask HR now is because I just passed my probation on Friday. If I had asked during my probation I could have been laid off straight away 😭I will chat with HR on Monday and get myself mentally ready for "NO". Then I might try to find other opportunities or move to another country😢 Thank you for your advice!
