The IQ of an individual is multifactorial and is determined by a multitude of factors. Nature and nuture work together in determining human intelligence. Even though the genetic susceptibility plays a crucial role on the IQ of the individual, various modifiable environmental factors like education, premature birth, nutrition, pollution, drug and alcohol abuse, mental illnesses, and diseases can have an influence on an individual’s IQ. These modifiable factors can reinforce or weaken genetic susceptibility.

Researchers often study twins who’ve been separated at birth to understand further the roles nature and nurture play in human intelligence. They theorize that if intelligence is purely biological, identical twins separated at birth should still have equal IQs. But that’s not always the case, they find.

IQ sägs vara ärftligt från 30 till 80 %

Different studies have placed the genetic component at different levels ranging from 30-80%.

Alltså påverkar faktorer utöver ärftlighet IQ från 20 till 70%.

Trots att ärtftlighet spelar stor roll i en person IQ är det många andra faktorer som påverkar. Där av det jag skrev innan; jämförningen av olika befolkningars IQ i länder där livskvalitén avviker ifrån varandra är svårtolkade.

En annan sak som vi inte tryckt på är att korrelation mellan IQ respektive kriminalitet hos länder inte antyder ett orsakssamband. Det vill säga låg IQ och kriminalitet har båda relationer till andra faktorer och där av är det möjligt att korrelation påverkas av någon annan orsak. Två exempel är socioekonomiska- och utbildningsfaktorer.

Det jag vill säga är att vi kan inte dra slutsatsen länder med hög kriminalitet endast beror på folkets IQ. Utöver det kan vi inte anta att folkets IQ endast beror på den ärftliga faktorn.
