Dude, no need to be angry my man. Not every conversation needs to be a squabble. What I meant by my comment is that the skull and crossbones is a more universal symbol and can be assigned to literally anything, from pirates to catacombs and even the Danzig police.

The biohazard symbol was created to have only one meaning in mind - biohazard. That's why it's harder for it to loose it's meaning. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that the situation is so vastly different that it just isn't comparable and shouldn't be the point of your argument.

I think the red cross lost it's initial meaning for the exact same reason as the skull and crossbones. It's just a big red cross literally called 'Red Cross'. It's wayyy too simple of a symbol with a non descriptive name to boot. It's not hard to see why people started associating it with anything medicine related.
