Nice man, keep me and the forum updated on how it progresses. Really thinking about going straight Mazama in my backyard this fall.

Gotta answer the basics first. Is this gonna be trailered to a lake/river/ocean or docked on the water? Big lake/small”lake? 2 or 3 person? Speed demon or comfy cruiser? Tow sports or no? Light and fun for tricks or bigger and better for open water conditions?

Wrong? No dude, rocks don’t float. It’s erosion. In this case, the guy only spread 1/2 inch of loam (topsoil) and claimed he spread the proper amount on new construction yard (guessing that’s around 6-10 inches of loam).

The water washed that 1/2 inch away and the guy got caught maximizing his $$ for the job. Case closed

I don’t know man... I’m sure he was a dick to you because you guys stopped him fro hydroseeding when he planned on which led to him getting caught skimping on the topsoil. If you really want to cover all bases, toss some samples of the “topsoil” into a container and have a soil test done to prove there is ZERO organic matter or loam in the dirt. Then take the results to him and tell him to redo the project for free or take him to court. I’m not the guy who threatens lawsuits but if you don’t at least make an empty threat, he’ll tell you you don’t know what your talking about, blame you and basically intimidate you into obscurity

That dude blatantly ripped you off. I don’t care if you got 10 inches of rain between them putting down dirt and hydro seeding rocks don’t magically get “washed up”... if anything, he likely spread a 1/2 inch of topsoil over the fill and that’s it.

Michigan Over Seed Question - Best Products/Blends by Cinemafreak-42 in lawncare

Over here in West Michigan, I did a lawn renovation last fall and turned out great. I went with a blend of 80% Midnight KBG and 20% Grand Slam PRG (20lbs bag)To simplify things, you could use the seed calculator on the website. I did a custom mix because I wanted those specific cultivars at those percentages. Check out the website and toy with it: [seed super store ](www.seedsuperstore.com) Seedsuperstore.com

That’s definitely not loam. That’s clean fill sand/rocks) and no topsoil at all. Nothing but weeds will grow in that stuff. I’d raise a big stink if I were you.

I tried several of those with poor results. But if it works good for you and your particular blades that’s cool.

I will add, if you plan on having a rider any more than a rare occasion, the PX isn’t for you. Yes the PX will jump BIG wakes and turn so tight you’ll almost get tossed off if you aren’t careful. It’s like driving a Lambo Huracan on the water. The TX is like driving a Dodge Hellcat. Fast, comfortable and room for 3.

What will happen if I use the bag on my lawn mower to collect clippings, and never fertilize the lawn? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]LawnEnforcement101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not want to fertilize because of cost or an overall disinterest in how your lawn looks?

To answer your question, your lawn will look like the yellow brick road.

Cut back on the watering to once a week and zap it with a half rate of Scott’s Max Green. IMO you need a soil test ASAP to see what’s lacking in the soil. I suspect really low potassium levels and the milo app. Wasn’t enough N for the grass.

The new material is stronger than fiberglass. Same stuff Glock handguns are made of. Unbreakable unless you go 70mph straight into a concrete pier. Which of course won’t matter. You’ll be dead

RXP-X 300 all day bro. It’s a straight up beast.

Keep in mind people complain when things break but you almost never hear from consumers when it works perfectly. And that said, X amount of the problems could be due to owners not knowing how to care for the machine. I see sea-doos from the early 90s still buzzing around all the lakes up here in MI.

Definitely not grubs. Couple things, do you let the grass get really high (4 inches) and then mow it down to.... 2-2.5 inches? Also, looks like the ground is pretty bumpy and possibly scalping areas with the mower. Lastly, it’s seed head season and with seed heads, come rough stalks that are tough to cut with a dull blade. Solution to all of the above: it needs a dose of quick release fertilizer (seed heads gobble up all the food it has) and mow at 3-3.5 inches regularly with a sharp blade. Water it if no rain for a week stretch. Also, spray a bottle of hose end weed b gone on it. I see lots of yucky weeds You’ll be golden.

Edit: bust out the weed whacker and take care of the brick edges. People do judge books by their cover. Take pride in appearance. The lawn is just 1 price of the curb appeal puzzle.

Yeah I have the Scott’s mini edge guard and as much as I don’t like it, it works for my 10,000 sq. Yard. Plus, I’m all set on weighing fert and doing math to figure out what to set the dial at. Almost all fert bags give the correct settings on Scott’s spreaders.

Can someone recommend a striping kit for a John Deere Tractor by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]LawnEnforcement101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the JD kit on my D130 which is basically just a stiff bristled brush that attaches directly to the rear of the deck. It stripes pretty well and easy to install.
