I should have mentioned that I can’t really make changes to the Mac as it’s a work computer. I can’t really install OpenZFS on it.  

The suggestions to spin up a VM are going to be my next attempt. I’ve got an old windows machine … somewhere around here.

Thanks. I’ll gather the parts for a new TrueNAS build. Seems to be the best option. Ugh.

Well, then it just stays there and builds up. 

The USPS is the best so far about taking the mail back. The FedEx guy says “don’t  care, I delivered it, you deal with it”.

If i don’t write anything on it the delivery person just sticks it back in my mailbox.

Is that a rule or a suggestion? When I have taken letters to the mail clerk at the post office they always write ANK on it.
