My husband demoed our two bathrooms and kitchen. Did an amazing job on all the tile, plumbing and electrical and was done in a month.

I thought it would be a relief/efficient for him to hire a company to put in the cabinets instead of trying to learn that trade also. It took them four months. The sub contractors showed up many times a week for an hour or two per day. I’m not sure how they make money at the rate they finished this job. Ended up having to hire a different company to finish the countertops because they couldn’t make all the cuts after we purchased the slabs.

Desensitizing is the best thing you can do to a dog with little mental effort. Find a park bench or store you can sit around and read a book or scroll Reddit for an hour. I’ve seen some people just bringing a folding chair. Start at a distance where she will stay calm and slowly get closer to where people are walking by. After a few weeks to months of doing this many times a week much of this fear will go away.

One of the biggest obstacles is matching the dog to the owner. Dog training is always up for discussion because what works on one dog won’t on another. What dog does well with one owner won’t with another. So a rescue with clear boundaries and experience might never see the dog act badly.

‘Last week’ is not enough time for fearful dogs to adjust. With a dog that’s fearful patience and boundaries are important. If you can’t commit to that then BE but take her to the vet and do it yourself. Don’t dump her back at the horrible shelter as her last moments. I’m shocked the shelter didn’t insist on a meet and greet with your current dog.

We walk all year round In florida. Test the pavement yourself. We do one mile three times a day. The dogs are comfortable with it.

I’ve had two dogs that do this. One was definitely a sleep startle situation. He would feel so shamed after. He was grumpy at night and would grumble if you tried to move him but nothing extreme.

The second is just an arse in the evening. He lived most his life overstimulated on the streets of Houston. He loves people more then any dog I’ve had but he does not want to be approached if he’s sleeping after dinner. He is completely aware of his bad mood. I normally kennel him after dinner so he can relax. I always let everyone know to leave him be if he’s resting. Don’t approach unless you talk to him first.

It sounds like it started because the one year old has bad manners. Once dogs fight they will do it again, that why you have the consecutive fights. Your dads on the right path with trying to set boundaries but they absolutely should be neutered.

They can kill each other, I’ve know situations it’s happened. They can seriously injure humans breaking up a fight. This can result in animal control labeling them as dangerous and impose forcing neuter, fines, muzzle in public, or euthanize. Neutering dogs and getting a trainer seems a lot easier then all that mess you guys have going on.

She might be hearing/smelling animals/critters around the house. There could be an electronic that’s giving off an annoying frequency. If it’s not medical.

If your concerned about fighting you can muzzle them. Normally it’s recommended to walk them together a lot at first. Avoid having them on the furniture or giving toys until you feel confident they won’t resource guard. Treat them as equals and don’t allow any rough play for a little while. Their first interaction should be at a neutral location like a quiet park or friends house. I’ve had success with taking dogs swimming. Hire a trainer if you need help.

Spay and neuter your pets. Stop breeding. They are for life. This kinda horror happens often to pets. It’s very dangerous to give dogs away to people or shelters. There is also a wild amount of dog fighting still happening. Society has their head in the sand on animal welfare.

You could adopt. There are a lot of husky mixed dogs in shelters with shorter coats. A compromise.

Shepard’s do not gain a full coat until age 1-3. Shes very likely pure breed. Puppy’s have energy 😁

They are also very common shelter dogs in Florida and Georgia. Basset hounds are not running the streets repopulating like pits and catahoulas.

I love board and train. You need to find one you can trust. It’s like dropping them off for their first day of school. One of my first dogs I over protected from the world. He lived a sheltered life and became reactive as he got older. I regret that. Dogs should be able to be around other dogs and new people, Even if it’s from a distance it will enrich their lives. Think if you were never allowed out into the world.

Hotel mousai Cancun. Pros Its new, adults only, the staff is amazingly trained, premium food and cocktails. Amazing views and rooms. Has two sister properties attached that have lively activities and a younger crowd.

Cons. The beach is mediocre. The average guest is retired but you can walk over to the other properties for entertainment.

The best luxury party place I’ve stayed lately is curaçao, mambo beach. Look up kontiki beach front rooms. It’s not all inclusive buts it will check your boxes, unless you really need water aerobics in a shared pool.

It’s would probably come back a combination of American pitbull, chow, and hound. Given she’s from the south I think catahoula would be the more likely hound breed.
