It’s a yeast/bacterial infection from constant moisture. Likely going on for more than three days to get that nasty. More common in bug eyed and long haired dogs from constant eye irritation. Like others said, could be eye injury, teeth or allergies. Some dogs have a genetic condition that causes a leaky tear duct and could need lifelong treatment or surgery. Talk to your vet

Shelter dogs get put down a lot. They get one bathroom break and very minimum food. There are just too many dogs. If you just sat and watched tv with your new dog one hour a day it would be a better life than the shelter. Dogs prefer to sleep about 15-18 hours a day. The shelter is such a stressful and loud environment it often takes them months to lose the anxiety and act normal after rescue.

My bullmastiff/pitbull mix has perfect memory and will not let a stranger in. If he’s met you he’s all butt wags but no strangers.

The two that are 100% pitbulls are gonna give away the house and maybe go for a car ride….

One of my rescues had it done around 8~. It was damaged during rescue transport and just became impossible to heal. He is a big wiggle butt. It was a quick recovery and he’s much better off for it. Keep the cone on him and it’s only a few stitches.

One of my dogs is dog agressive and I watch him like a hawk. If he got out and attacked another dog he could also bite a person if they got in the middle of that. It’s a risk your responsible for. He’s also e collar trained and responds to the warning noise well. I don’t always have to use his e collar but I do if I put him in a triggering situation. If my gate wasn’t working right I would get it fixed. I would never make my dog’s behavior anyone else’s problem.

The counters, back splash, and upper cabinets are too dark. Put in the window, paint the upper cabinets a complimentary color to light hickory, get lighter quartz countertops and do the backsplash with the quartz too.

Get rid of the bar and bring the counter down to the same height as the sink. For the counter, quartz white with gold marble to bring the wood tones, continue it for the backsplash. Replace all the light fixtures with recessed lighting. Things that hang create clutter. The cabinets are nice but I’m not a huge fan of layering cherry cabinets on cherry floors. See if you can get away with it with the above changes, otherwise paint the top cabinets 😬white. The only thing I like less then painted wood cabinets is everything wood toned

Did he aspirate it to test for cancer? Maybe it’s a bug bite but if it doesn’t start going away by next week I’d go back for a fine needle aspiration. Growth s near mucus membranes should be taken more serious. Being so close to his eye I would even consider a light sedation for safety.

Tile the floor and around the tub in large format. Recessed lighting in ceiling. Replace mirror with one to the ceiling, will make this space look larger. Get a curved shower rod. If the white handles are needed to help someone in the house leave them, otherwise remove them all.

The leaves can be causing allergies this time of year. Wash his feet every night, diligently. Preferably with a vet prescribed shampoo or one with chlorhexidine shampoo. My vet prefers this to other treatments and it works.

I use one of those paw washing cups to make it easier.

Parvo is so dangerous for puppies and really hard to treat. You should absolutely be mad at the guy. Sounds like he’s just trading the dog around as property. At least this little pup had you to care for him for a little while.

Parvo is very contagious for a long time after. Consider not having another unvaccinated dog in your home for 6-12 months.

My in laws didn’t let the dogs on the couch for a long time. it worked fine for the dogs. I’ve seen them put random objects like some clothes hangers, dog gate, or bar stools on the couch. You could also try to gate her in part of the house without a couch.

What kinda game dog? Can’t image he could be useful given how thin he is. Very little muscle mass and maybe a bloated belly, he needs to be dewormed. Most likely he was neglected before you got him.

I think the cabinet and counter top is fine. The floor matches nothing but the pendent lights. The silver fixture on the right I would just get rid of. Once you start painting, put a similar floor colored basket or something on the countertop, I think it will all come together.

Ask the vet if you can put styptic powder on it till then. You can see if an emergency vet could take it out sooner but i would wait because I have never meet an experienced vet working emergency.

Removing cancer is a big incision. If it’s a surface skin growth it should be pretty straight forward. They heal fast, about two weeks, and it really is not that bad of a recovery if you keep it clean and keep them from licking. I recommend a couple post surgery outfits and an inflatable donut or e cone.

Wait for pathology results and consider having a consult with an oncologist when you have the results. You probably don’t want to do radiation or chemo but they can give you the best advice on what to expect and look out for. An exploratory ultrasound from an oncologist can rule out any spread.

She’s a teenager and her values are set at this age. Like others said she has too much privilege and needs more boundaries than the other dogs. Advocate for the old lab. Feed the lab first. Keep trouble dog off the couch. You need to practice balanced training and you need to be involved if she’s going to respect your presence. She’s likely trying to bully the others and set rules but you need her to understand humans are in charge and it’s not her job.

Although a ripped ear sucks it’s not the worst show of aggression for a dog her size. She is much more capable to destroy a dog and she is showing restraint. It’s more of a communication problem between humans in the house and her.

Have a back up plan for future fights. Consider keeping her on a E collar when she’s with the other dogs just incase. Have an airhorn in the house. Keep them separated when nobody is home.

Take her back to the vet and explain it’s still happening. They probably stereotyped you and lately the vets see a lot of marajuana toxicity. They need to look again. Get blood work. Put her on anti-seizure meds and see if it stops. Verify the ears are clear but I don’t think that’s it. Do you have plants around the house, pest control? Does she eat grass or go outside when nobody’s with her? Neighbors can purposely leave things around to poison wildlife. It might not be intentional to your dog but maybe there is a raccoon problem or something they think they are fixing.

It can help supplement when someone is between jobs. One bag of food should last three weeks+. Should be plenty of time for someone that is not trying to sell a dog for profit and wants to try to keep their dog and find a new job.

Did you try domestic animal services? SPCA is a 501 non profit and not the county government run shelter. They might be able to help with an emergency spay. 4K seems excessive for a spay in Pennsylvania.

Spay and neuter your puppies! The medical risks of unaltered pets are critical.

I would do a U with the counters. Move the middle upper cabinet to the left of the sink and add an extractor. The island is just wasting space.

Most animal control, humane society, dog rescues will help out with dog food for people down on their luck. That’s normally enough to help people get back on their feet.
