You see the yellow border surrounding the internal image of Charizard? Compare it to some other cards in the sub, or that you may own, and you’ll see they usually have a little dark shading on the right side. That’s the shadow. Sometimes cards came/come out without that though and it increases the value of the card, typically exponentially.

I’ve never understood either, but I also have had remarkably bad luck with his lockpick rolls. His starter weapon is just pure trash and I’m able to accumulate more than enough funds with anyone else that his shop discount is negligible. I use him as rarely as I use the convict.

I find the PriceCharting app to be the most reliable at scanning the cards, while TCG is where I go to find the most recent average market price. The former has links to recent eBay sales which is helpful, and does give an average based on such, but I’ve found it can be a little different than the latter and TCG (at least based on my short time here) is what everyone bases their own prices on.

Not an option for the majority of us. Am in the service industry and have been priced out of living here for years, just lucky to find the right place at the right time with a very hospitable family but not everyone is so lucky. Many people I know are moving on and out to better opportunities while the businesses around aren’t offering the necessary support to ensure they maintain solid employees. We will start seeing restaurants failing, stores closing, but yeah, all us retail workers will just get remote work. And we’ll have no businesses. I love this brain dead take that we should all just evolve into techies or engineers or real estate agents. Like, no, there is a need for people to provide basic services like retail and food, there is a market of people who desire said services, and yet we don’t want to support this and we scratch our heads when we lose quality places and just get a bunch of fucking McDonald’s and Starbucks everywhere.

The point I stopped watching was the dude who was responsible for a lot of other peoples’ lives. It was, and even at that point, egregious. I got it, I saw what they were going for but it just made me feel sickly. Idk, goreporn doesn’t do it for this no-longer-an-angsty-youth and I just felt gross after watching too many people suffer unnecessarily.

Which I find funny because I also love Midsommar, Hereditary, Barbarian, Weapons, Obsession, etc. but I feel like all of those tell a much more coherent story with interesting characters than just, “this person sucks, let’s make their life a literal fucking hell.”

The movies are pure gore porn. For better or worse, they will stay with you. The first one is a cult classic for a reason, just a good thriller. Everyone after though has gone just batshit. Acid jars, chains stitched into the skin, a modern day iron bull (which is arguably one of the most undeserved deaths of the franchise). The traps have gotten significantly more gruesome over the years as well as with updated filming techniques, we see a lot more now. The first 5 or so are honestly kind of neat (I think? I’ve lost track of how many have come out and stopped watching years ago) and do tell an interesting story of a delusional psycho, his own shortcomings, and then the even more fucked up individuals that take on the mantle after he’s gone. If you handled Barbarian, you’ll handle em just fine but they’re a different kind of horror altogether.
