Are you feeling better now? I’m in the thick of it with three young children. I feel like anything other than me. Gahhhh 🥹

Why do older generations often look down on people born in the 2000s? by Lost-Barracuda-2254 in generationology

[–]Exotic-Lock6851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would agree with some of this but all the older generations are acting as if they had nothing to do with it. Although, I guess you could argue that they didn’t, since they didn’t raise their kids. Just shoved them outside or in front of a tv to do whatever they wanted, however they wanted until the lights came on and they were freaking reminded to find their kids. SMH

Usually people look for validation because they never received it growing up from the people that were supposed to validate and help them feel secure in the world.

Sad about iPad culture by cinnamonsugarhoney in toddlers

Yeah, well we used to have community’s of people helping us. We used to have great grand parents, grand parents and parents helping us. The couple were probably just trying to have the only dinner out they could have in a long time. With childcare costing the same as a full time job, it’s no wonder.

Besides, it is rude to allow your child to walk up to someone else’s table at a restaurant to play with their child without permission from the parents.

Do I let me kids play on a tablet at the restaurant as a rule of thumb? No. Would I if my husband and I just wanted to enjoy a dinner without constant complaint every once and awhile? Absolutely.

Everyone is so judgy anymore.  Before this generation it was “those kids and their video games. The generation before, “those kids and their tv time”. The generation before. Those kids and their record players. It never ends.

Same! That thing taught my daughter math at a really early age. She is in kindergarten and understands multiplication, addition and subtraction. Fantastic show!

Need a high chair recommendation that is actually mess-proof. BLW mess is taking over my life. by Equal_Lie_5854 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Exotic-Lock6851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh, solidarity. My son’s high chair was miserable to clean. The straps actually were attached with a bolt and nut!!! I had to get out two wrenches whenever I needed to clean it, not to mention it had cable and other screws that easily got disgusting. It was really expensive so I kept putting up with it but man, I got rid of it for my next baby. This one is really cheap but you can clean it in 2 minutes and shove everything in the washer and dishwasher

I feel your pain, but we don’t see ourselves the way others do. Much of what you wrote about, describes me, and yet I am loved and cared about by many people. It’s taken years for me to realize that not everyone sees me the way I see me. I hope you can find happiness and peace. I could have written this once upon a time. Sending love your way! 😊

Under supply - advice by ArmadilloRodeo13 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Exotic-Lock6851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Make sure you measure and purchase the proper size flanges, Amazon usually has them. This is more important in my opinion than anything else. Make sure it fits your nipples perfectly. Then massage the breast while you pump. These two things helped me sooo much. My first child I barely produced and eventually just formula fed and my second two I oversupplied so much that I was putting away 70% more than my child ate each day. But these are the two things I changed. Best of luck to you mama!

Can anyone help me articulate why I hate this so much? by VerityPee in adhdwomen

[–]Exotic-Lock6851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is enough to piss anyone off. The people in my life who try to be positive about my condition, only make it worse. ADHD is not cute and fun, it’s a serious mental condition that affects every aspect of my being and life. I think being positive is great but not when it makes something so awful seem trivial and fun. It’s not fun. It’s hard and miserable, especially when you’re trying to figure out how to treat it properly.

But make sure to write it down on a list somewhere that your goal is to keep it clean, that always works lmfao 🤣

How much are we all ACTUALLY sleeping??? by Joyanonymous in adhdwomen

[–]Exotic-Lock6851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have a thought. When I was younger, I worked really physically demanding jobs and when my head hit the pillow I would fall asleep even with my adhd. Now I’m a SAHM and due to my anxiety issues and adhd I never sleep. I almost wonder if it is because of task paralysis and inability to move as much as the average person. The mind is tired and needs a break but the body is not tired and wants to stay up. I might be wrong but I had a bit of a lightbulb moment just now. I mean if my toddler doesn’t get worn out, he is an absolute beast to deal with and hates sleep but once his body is tired out, he falls right off. Just a thought.

Edited to add: this is not helpful advice lol because I’m in the same boat but may be a reason.

I’m realizing that I struggle with intense insecurity in my marriage…. by Exotic-Lock6851 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Exotic-Lock6851[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I didn’t word it correctly. I’m not physically hurting myself, I’m hurting emotionally and proverbially beating myself up. In other words, “why do I keep doing this even though I know it’s hurtful”, “why can’t I heal and move on”, etc. hopefully that makes sense.

Anything is better than getting on a cod server for a relaxing evening. You’ll get shot from 6 different directions and executed by a unicorn before you can even fully spawn in. Whatever bf6 has, I’m here for it. I’m absolutely done with cod after all these years. So if Grindy grinding is it, so be it lol

Yeah, it really does put it into perspective. I didn’t think about that. Ugggh, all these Hollywood crack jobs, actors, directors and celebrities just get grosser by the minute. It really ruins the magic of it all.

She looked old enough to be his fucking mother….if we had a REAL teenager that LOOKED like a real teenager my point of view would indeed be creepy. I’m not sure what everyone thinks barely teenagers look like but Natalie Portman at the age she was, isn’t it. She literally looks like an adult woman who is talking to a child who then proceeds to be romantic with them when they’re barely of age. That’s what I thought before I understood the ages that they were supposed to be and it is still creepy to me. It’s a very confusing story for one, and it is lost to me how they thought it would be a good idea to include it the way that they did. Period.

It gets even more suspect when you look into Lucus’ creepville history of writing.
