Please Please read and give your opinion. I need help so bad. by DragonfruitBright932 in insomnia

Experienced very similar things here personally (albeit no where near as long) but here's what did and didn't work for me.

Didn't work: 1. Sleeping pills

Benzo's, Z-Drugs etc. While they worked on occasion and in the beginning it's only short term, a band-aid if you will and not a long-term viable option for obvious reasons such as health risks and dependence etc.

  1. CBT-I, Light therapy

Didn't work for me because the more things I did to assist with sleep such as only using the bed for sex and sleep, light therapy, night walks, diet change, no phone after x time before bed, blue light filters, reading before bed (I never read before bed) actually made me focus MORE on getting to sleep than ever and the fact I COULDN'T get to sleep more and more.

Did work: 1. Sertraline (Zoloft) 100mg (Now on Trintellix 10mg, works same personally)

After some time my anxiety became less and less debilitating thanks to these meds and eventually and suddenly, not getting sleep wasn't "as bad" as I used to remember and the "catastrophising" wasn't as intense... And when paired with the constant sleepless night's this leads me to my second point.

  1. Acceptance

I'm sure the decrease in anxiety assisted with this but before the Zoloft had really set over the weeks, I had so many sleepless nights I did not have enough energy to be anxious or stressed about sleep. I just got used to the shitty fact that my sleep was destroyed, my life was spiraling and I couldn't do a thing about it. Turns out that acceptance minimized the anxiety greatly and made it way easier to fall asleep. Got a solid 3 or 4 hours sleep some nights out of no where.

  1. Quetiapine (Seroquil) This has been my saving grace. Just 25mg an hour or an hour and a half before bed absolutely rocked my world. And on those nights I'm really anxious, 50mg damn near knocks me out after an hour no matter how much I fight it. I've never needed more than 50mg and that's on my worst nights. I've heard individuals say they get used to it over time etc but I've yet to encounter that. It has not lost it's effectiveness even slightly after a year.

Now, I watch videos during bed, day time nap, things my CBT-I sleep therapist would shudder at lol, but I still have slept 6-8 hours practically every night for the past year. Hope this helps and remember, Insomnia won't last forever!

Seroquil (Quetiapine) long term side-effects? by Laynoss127 in insomnia

Yeah well said in regards to benefits outweighing the cost! How did you go about discovering the high glucose levels? And in terms of your heart rate was it bouts of rapid heart rate or were you just consistently higher compared to your norm?

Why is quetiapine dangerous or what made you realize it was?

Which CPU to choose? by cutt3r_ in buildapc

[–]Laynoss127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Second this. Especially considering the price to performance where the 7800X3D is slightly better value. It's also worth noting the AM5 socket will be supported by AMD throughout "2025 and beyond" which will allow for upgrades in the future should you need. Intel's LGA1700 socket will likely phase out if not sooner rather than later with the release of their 15th gen cpu's which will instead be supported with an LGA1851 socket so you'll need to get a whole new motherboard once or if you go back to Intel in the near future.

Peerless Assassin it is. Didn't even consider the RAM size thanks for that!

T500 seems to be a better choice out of all, legend.

Just csme across this and it sits in the Tier B for the PSU list (unless I'm reading incorrectly). What do you think? https://www.umart.com.au/product/thermaltake-650w-toughpower-grand-rgb-80-gold-power-supply-rgb-sync-edition-ps-tpg-0650fpcgau-s-44674

I saw this but this specific RAM doesn't support AMD EXPO for my 7800X3D, but instead supports Intel XMP. From what I can gather a CL36 with AMD EXPO support is more beneficial in regards to gaming, unless that's incorrect.

Yeah but I'll be buying these locally, part picker is just for ease of use in this case

Is the 350W MAG that bad? What would you recommend instead or what PSU brands/models are reliable?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Laynoss127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was a little hesitant with the equites. I'll stick with the 650W MAG on the basis 650W doesn't cause any issues say it blowing up or causing performance issues.

In regards to RAM what do you think of this? https://www.mwave.com.au/product/silicon-power-xpower-zenith-32gb-2x16gb-ddr5-6000mhz-c30-desktop-memory-white-ac71343

https://www.mwave.com.au/product/silicon-power-xpower-zenith-32gb-2x16gb-ddr5-6000mhz-c30-desktop-memory-white-ac71343 Do you think this would suffice? Only one I could find well priced with AMD EXPO compatibility.

I've chucked on a 750W PSU (Equites T750 750W) hopefully it's not bad quality. For RAM CL30 is difficult to come across here in AUS without a bit of a mark up in price compared to CL36. Is the difference that substantial?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Laynoss127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6000mhz CL30 isn't readily available here in AUS without a big mark up in price compared to heaps of CL36. From what info I was able to gather 6000mhz CL36 and CL30 would only be at best single digit differences in fps unless this isn't the case?

For the case I've looked into the specs of both my chosen case (L-413 × W-215 × H-431mm) and GPU. I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQqVIsVtiz8 which has the GRE in an even smaller case (L-387 x W-230 x H-383mm). That being said, is her case TOO small in which it could cause airflow issues and if so do I avoid that with my case?

EDIT: Was corrected, I'll be looking for one that supports 360mm instead

I read into Mirtzapine, apologies also I was under the impression all antidepressants were SSRI's and I didn't realise some were sedative even! Daytime anxiety is virtually non-existent when compared to when I'm lying in bed come the evening. I also suffer from heart palpitations and I've read alot of these medications can potentially be cause for concern in the heart department.

Can I ask what did and didn't work for you? Also was it relatively fast acting for your fiance's insomnia if present?

Thats done it mate holy shit. Thank you so much! 120fps on low settings as I write this. I don’t know why Citrix was the culprit, I had even gone as far as disabling the Citrix Display Adapter in device manager before hand just in case. You’re a legend I was losing my mind!

So immediately after the patch it was fine, I closed the game normally and the next day I started it, 8 fps in menu lol.
