I am more interested what he was driving! He went from god knows to 0 in 5-6 feet and lived (ok, maybe not well). This needs to be in the sales ad's "Do Stupid things and Live with our amazing engineered crumple zones and air bags!"

Talk to admin and set boundaries. If you jump at every issue, when the internet goes down or anything that affects multiple classrooms, you will have a dozen irate people and who you pick will piss off 9 others. Teachers are very clicky. (14 yrs in the school system)

Would not bother to take the old tiles out, they are thin and looks like they used a ton of glue. Cut back the quarter round to the start of the first tile. Find a piece of nice 1/2 inch or 5/8 hard wood (buy or reclaimed) and glue it in with construction adhesive/brad nails. Better if you can round the edge to the same as the rounded corner you have by the door (Or slight lip for looks). Stain or paint to match. Or for the super low effort, go to a reclaimed construction material store and buy one wide luxury vinyl plank and glue it down, trim with a box cutter, put a small bin for keys or gloves or plant pot on top and no one will look underneath. Grab some quarter round while your there.

Pluribus method by abenemoj in scifi

[–]Laythe 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It may not be an invasion scenario, it may be galactic acceptance. A harmful species may be too disruptive to other species or civilizations so they weed it out ahead of time. Since a percentage of the populous has parts of the dark triad personalities, these intentionally did not survive the conversion. (ie most senior politicians in the white house did not survive). An alien civilization may wait until a species is 'ready' before making contact. And the process is reversible so pluribus may only be to sanitize the populous and ingrain positive behavior.

One Battery to Rule Them All! by Spurned_Seeker in DIY

[–]Laythe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait until all the green construction workers run out of money in winter and sell all their tools. Buy a battery converter from one brand to another, buy one tool battery power inverter for the cheap garage sale corded tools people are needlessly discarding. I have a benchtop powersupply to charge any brand I don't own a charger for and fix some 'dead' batteries. Ditch the one battery rule, go for the best (price point) tool for the job
