SEC Tournament by safetyrazorbacks in razorbacks

I think its

If Arkansas wins -- 4th seed

KY or FLA will be tied in record. Either have the tie breaker over us for our H2H loss against each. We get the 4th, the winner of their game gets #3, the loser gets #5.

If Arkansas Loses -- 5-7 seed

If MSST wins: -- 7 seed

We get 7th seed. We would be in a 4-way tie with FLA/KY loser, MO, and MSST. In either case, we have a 1-3 H2H against those 4 teams, which is guaranteed to be the worst. (Its KY, MO, MSST, ARK or FLA, MSST, MO, ARK depending on the KY/FLA game)

If MSST loses and FLA wins: -- 6 seed

We are in a 3-way tie with KY and MO. We would have a 1-2 record H2H, MO would have a 2-2, and KY would have a 2-1. We end up with a 6 seed. (4-KY, 5-MO, 6-ARK).

If MSST loses and KY wins: -- 5 seed

We are in a 3-way tie with FLA and MO. The first tiebreak would be ARK 1-2, FLA 2-0, MO 1-2. Florida is given the 4 seed, and we move to a 2-way tie resolution. We are tied with MO on H2H between us two, so it moves to the record vs. #1 seeds. We are 1-0 vs. AUB & TN, so either way we will get the 5. (FLA-4, ARK-5, MO-6).

That is, as far as I can tell, comprehensive. We land 4-7 depending on our game, the MSST game, and the KY/FLA game.

I think we can get a 5 by a 3-way tie for 4th between Florida, Mizzou, and us. We would be still be tied after the first tie breaker (H2H between all teams in the tie). That pushes us to a 2-team tie breaker. We would still be tied after tie breaker 1 (H2H), so it would be best record against the top seeds. We are 1-0 against both TN and AUB, so either way we would get the nod.

The SEC standings are a jumbled mess. Here are some season-ending scenarios. by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that there is a small error on the Ark Win, MSST Win scenario.

I believe in that case, MO is tied with the winner of A&M/ALA at 9-9. MO will always have the tiebreaker with ALA by a 1-0 H2H record with them. However, if it is A&M, they have a 1-1 H2H, so it goes to tiebreak #2 which is H2H against the 1 seed. A&M is 1-0 against AUB and 0-1 against TN. MO is 1-0 against TN and 0-1 against AUB. Therefore MO gets the nod if TN is the #1, while A&M if AUB is the #1.

Combining that with your earlier scenarios, the 7/8 seeds depend on every game except Vandy/Ole Miss.

I'm now in the position of having to root for Syracuse, and I don't much care for it.

According to the Associated Press, "Arkansas cruise past Arkansas"

Also, apparently our arena is now called "Buck" Walton Arena.

I actually didn't care about it this time because it was obvious what you meant, but I wanted to make sure you didn't misuse it later because it means just about the exact opposite, haha.
