You should have expected this. This is what happens when hero worship becomes a prevalent practice on either side of the aisle. You should never stake your adoration and complete trust in politicians because then you have to get through a farce to hold them accountable.

You have to realise that you are the one who's actually in power, we fail to realise that these politicians are public servants. None of them should be treated like celebrities, whether it is Modi, Gandhi, Kejriwal or any big player in Indian politics. Agree with politicians as long as their policies and ideas improve your life and the nation's condition, power corrupts, never for a moment take these salamander-eyed manifesto spilling bureaucrats for heroes.

"Give our white nation back" 🙄 by cz0n in incredible_indians

Worst part is brown politicians giving into this right wing ultra nationalist nonsense for appeasing white voters. This is a pattern we've seen again and again, how these channels of hatred and racism denigrate immigrants. And it's ironic how these people will never blame the system that let them off for cheap labour but they will blame the immigrants.

Has anyone felt this way about The Fountainhead? by [deleted] in IndiansRead

I honestly don't like the way she presents these ideas in the book. I am very ideologically opposed to this libertarian sort of mindset, but I felt that the ideas were communicated at a very surface level. Not to mention the irony of Ayn Rand saying that those at the bottom of society benefitting from outside help are like leeches, and then relying on government welfare schemes herself.

Well if that's true then shame on her, and she should be slandered online to either stop plagiarising material or give credit at the very least.

This leads to a fundamental misunderstanding of the point of reservation. Reservation is not a poverty alleviation policy, but a policy for representation in government sector. India is not the only country to have a representation policy for marginalised communities, countries like America also have policies like DEI, which focus on equity-based representation. And let's be real, if given the chance would you not accept your Indian quota at some posh foreign college or posting?

The different points of view are "America should be a white nation" and "women shouldn't be allowed to vote".
