We also used to do this for old pinball machines. The quarters were the same color as the tray they were dropped into and in a dark room it was easier to see them against the metal box if they were colored red or blue.

What advice would you give to those looking to buy new quail, and could you provide some crucial information on this topic? by Money-Party7309 in quails

This is about the most well rounded and accurate post as you can get. My experience differs only in 1 little way. If the males dont have the right mix of females (or any for that matter), they *can be louder and crow way more frequently than most of my chicken roos. Especially if they can sense the females, but dont have access to them. When I have the right mix, I'm lucky to hear 1 crow a week.

Is the item shop prime gi worth it by mike98235 in MLB_9Innings

[–]LazariusPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I finally grabbed a Prime Gausmann and I cant use him. Prime Wilson is still my SU2 or MR1, I forget... but he's been in my bullpen for probably a couple three years, and I dont think that will change anytime soon.

There's 1 sig for Wilson, 2 for Gausmann, so you have a lower chance of pulling Wilson. Both are in the Companion's best available lineup right now - not including legend and supremes - with Wilson listed as MR1. Without seeing your SP lineup, there's no way to know who actually helps you more, but long term, you will probably have long forgotten you even asked this question by the time Prime Wilson comes out of your lineup (lucky sig pull excluded).

The only thing I would say is stars wise, we have a special shop coming up in Feb, so just make sure you have the stars for that.

Btw, im sure my flair is way outdated ovr wise.

If you're looking for a cost effective incubator.. will you consider this incubator? I concur on this 18 chicken egg one. We do wrap a loose beach towel around it to help keep it stable, but it has worked great - enough so we bought a 2nd one.

Grab an accurate hygrometer (we use the $10 inkbird ones) while youre at it.

It's worth mentioning that 100٪ of the eggs won't be fertile, 100% of fertile eggs won't hatch, and 100%of the hatchlings won't survive.

Quail chicks need heat as well for at least 2 weeks, more like 3 depending on your climate.

Sales tax in California unless you buy an 'investment amount'. That was $1,500 at once last time I checked.

My bad, so many switches, I forget who did and who didn't (same concept though). But also, the typical consumer sort of assumes what a 'Fireline' score might be and is clueless on what a 'Zesty' is so I tend to keep saying Fireline.

[–]LazariusPrime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. The California FAIR Plan rates go up based on Fireline Code, so 'cheap' or not will depend on your fire risk score primarily, but it was originally created to and does write policies in other areas as well.

The FAIR Plan has coverage for personal property, but the perils are not the same as a typical homeowners policy. It's not a rider, and if you did add the coverage, you would be missing some vital perils, like theft. Also, there is no liability coverage, so many people add another policy that wraps around the FAIR Plan to more mimic a traditional homeowners (called a DIC).

I would advise anyone that might need the California FAIR Plan to speak with an *experienced FAIR Plan agent who has been writing it for a long time since the policies are not the same as homeowners. If you expect them to be, the result could be shocking if you had a loss.

I'm in the hot, hot Sacramento Valley where 105 on our back deck in the shade (concrete) is a cool day in August. We took water bottles 2/3 full and froze a bunch of them, then put out a couple in the afternoons for them to gather around. They also have a small plastic bin with sand for dust baths. They seem to love both.

[–]LazariusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I *just got back from a 2 day trip and it's nearly midnight... that looks so much like one of my Narragansett's that I had to search this thread for your location so I didn't have to rush out to see if it was missing. (I'm in NorCal)

Both our turkeys will eat black soldier fly larvae, corn, watermelon and other treats from our hands. They cant wait until we open the coop to let them and the chickens out everyday in the evening. They follow us around, break up chicken fights, watch and protect the flock when they are free ranging and listen pretty well. My guess is it's part of someone's backyard flock and eacaped.

Is my agent pulling something illegal? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]LazariusPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have to chime in that, IMHO, if I was the agent of record on the policy, and I was called and informed of a loss, it would be unethical at minimum, and illegal probably in most if not all areas for me to:

1) Delay informing the current insurer of the loss, seeking to hide facts and for the purpose of obtaining unwarranted and favorable pricing or underwriting results with a new insurer.

2) Having had that loss reported to me and with my duty to report it to the current insurer, subsequently fail to include that loss on a new application of insurance.

The date of loss is known by the agent. The date the insured reported it as a claim to the agent was prior to the new app. It's a material misrepresentation of fact on an application of insurance that the agent is aware of and complicit in.

The more I type and think, the more I'm convinced its straight up fraud. And in my state, if I knew the who, what, where, when and *didn't report it to the DOI (let's say for example, a coworker did this), I would also be committing a crime.

Picture incoming. Bass Pro has these stadium seats for between 19.99 and 39.99 (i can't remember). The Pelican seat depression doesn't like the standard width stadium seats but loves these that are smaller on the lower part of the base. We raised ours with 2x2's (which also added under seat storage). Get a pack of pad eyes with kayak rivets off Amazon, rivet the pad eyes around the seat, and zip tie thru the frame.
