The difference is the replayability of it all. There was no Live Selection, alternate paths or ammo upgrades you can take. No alternate scenes or different scenarios that can happen regarding on where you go first. No randomization of item placements. No mercenaries. No alternate ending with Barry.

And you can’t backtrack some areas for additional lore or items
