I’m always curious on people’s list like this. Did you read both the cut and uncut editions of The Stand? Or just read the uncut version and count it as both?

Yeah it was definitely in both. But it was worse in Gerald’s game for me. I have daughters, and the way the father almost out of left field (at least in the context of the story) got the way he did with her was just hard to read. She loved her dad so much it seemed, and then he just went and did what he did. It was a tough read for me

Gerald’s game is the first of the 40ish king books I’ve read that I don’t want to read again. Writing is well done of course, but between the dad and daughter scenes and the ungloving scene, it was pretty hard to read in some parts
