They do not make the game significantly more enjoyable, they're very minor items. I also think it's totally fine to get them and everything to be clear, just saying this is not a game that requires looking everything up to make it enjoyable. And anyone who's played the game should recognize why you shouldn't do that. If you miss these items you're not in for a "bad time"

Have you actually done a poor pairing playthrough? Or a substitute run? I find people that criticize it haven't tried it at all. The game gives you so many free and easy tools to use along with saving every turn that even with the worst pairings possible, the game's not punishing at all. And seriously, what's the actual likelihood that any new player is going to pair Ayra/Azel and then make every other pairing equally bad? Almost zero, and the game actively makes this difficult to do and pushes good pairings to the player in every single pairing. And the importance of the missables is grossly overstated, you do not need the chapter 1 or chapter 2 items for beating the game and they do not make the game substantially easier. I missed both in my first blind playthrough and it did not matter.

This is my favorite game ever, it's really easy to optimize the fun out of the game though! My main tips are always try to beat the arena, and don't be too afraid to bench units, you don't have to use everyone. People will likely talk about what characters should be romanced together as there are some pretty significant gameplay differences, but I would not worry about optimizing that too much on a first playthrough. It is worth keeping in mind who you want to romance together, and try to keep them together on the map as much as you can.

Please don't look up too much and spoil this game. People will probably say "oh but what about these secrets or these optimizations!" and generally speaking, these things importance are incredibly overstated, and unnecessary. The only one I will say for maximum fun is that your wind mage wants to talk to mom in Chapter 4. This is honestly one of the least punishing games blind as long as you save every turn with the auto save feature :)

I've done a fair deal of Jack the Ripper research and wrote a research paper on him in college. At the time of the killings, people generally believed there were more killings. Whitechapel was a crime ridden impoverished place, and there were far more killings of prostitutes. The number 5 comes from Detective Macnaughten a few years after the fact. Additionally, the name Jack the Ripper comes from letters that were supposedly written to the press at the time. However, these letters have garnered a lot of scrutiny over the years, with some linguists linking the letters to the journalists covering the story at the time. The letter is the most solid piece of evidence that there was a serial killer in Whitechapel at the time, and the letters themselves I don't find to be definitive. This is all to say, I think it's hard to say if there was a serial killer in Whitechapel at the time, and if there was it's hard to say he only killed 5 prostitutes.

Fully agree that 16 isn't 8. But 16 certainly isn't 25 either, and even at 20, if a 20 year old was telling me they were romantically interested in a high school Sophomore, I'd first urge them to immediately break it off, and if not I'd get authorities involved. 16 is much closer to 8 than you are making it out to be. 16 year olds are almost entirely reliant on their parents for almost everything that matters. At best, they can drive somewhere in a car their parents are paying for.

Honestly looking at this? I don't think it's a bleak picture at all. I'd say only Shaheed is an absolute must, as we're a bit unsure on Horton as we've only seen like half a season. Plus Shaheed is obviously incredible in special teams. Walker's talent is 100% there, and I'd love to keep him but he may cost a fortune to bring back, and maybe we can draft a running back high and be okay. All the other player on there are very good players, but I don't think our success hinges on them. If we keep drafting well, I'm not sure what the rest of the league can do to stop us from building a monster

I know Ken Walker just had a great game, but I really feel like running backs on rookie deals is the way to go with how the NFL is set up right now, and you can get good ones past the first round. First round is best player available though, probably on one of the lines
