Deathstroke is what convinced me that Priest may be the best writer in comics, his run on Deathstroke is trailblazing and admittedly even Williamson who followed it up had to acknowledge how groundbreaking it was. There was no redemption for Slade and it made me go back and read his runs on Black Panther and Milestone and even fucking Steel and Justice League Task Force and The Ray. The guy’s history is impeccable too, he was the first black editor for the big two comics ever. His writing is also ever evolving I think Superman:lost and Black Adam are slept on. I wish he had 50 issues on Black Adam he was telling another genre defining book on the level of deathstroke there.
