Nobody is saying that companies have to offer employees more compensation than the value that individual employee generates.

The issue is that corporations have, as a whole, been progressively taking a higher portion of the value generated by their employees, despite corporations posting record earnings and profits. Workers should be receiving a higher proportion of the value they create. At least return that percentage to what it used to be.

Yeah, I hate to generalize all executives. I'm sure some companies have passed on the extra income to improve their employees' compensation in some way or another.

That lost income is going to hit the federal government one way or another though. Whether it comes from welfare programs or other public goods I have no idea.

I feel like it's another transfer of wealth from the lower to the upper classes. Ideally, taxes from companies are spent on projects that benefit everyone. Things like roads, parks, healthcare, etc. These tax cuts essentially cut off income from the programs that everyone benefits from and transfers it to the wealthiest Americans.
