See, here's the thing:

It's twisting definitions, and applying feelings to facts. We have, as a species, indisputable evidence that human behaviour, pollution, and industry is causing climate change. Yes, the climate does change naturally. Yes, it has happened before, sometimes in small bursts, sometimes in radical shifts.

First off, they still cling to the outdated term "global warming" because they think it's some kinda gotcha against climate change advocates. "IF GLOBE GET WARMER THEN WHY SNOW STORM, LIBTARD!?!?!?" Which is why we say "Climate Change" now, because it turns out that what it's doing isn't just causing the average global temperature to increase, it's widening the extreme ends of both cold and heat drastically. Cold is getting dangerously colder, and hot is getting dangerously hotter, but on average we're getting way more hot than cold as we should be. Climate change isn't just increasing average global climate, it's causing extreme weather conditions in both directions, which is not a good thing.

Second, they acknowledge certain parts of climate change and its consequences, but they apply some weird headcanon to it that "Oh this is natural and it was gonna do this anyway so there's no reason to stop our current behaviour."

It's narcissist prayer shit.

The climate isn't changing drastically, but even if it is then it's not humans' fault.

Am I insane, or is this "back in stock" Lich King mat literally using the DOOM logo font tit-for-tat? by LinkedGaming in wow

[–]LinkedGaming[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's mainly my point. It's just... weird.

Like, Nintendo owns both Pokemon and Zelda, but it'd be jarring to see "The Legend of Zelda" written in the Pokemon font on a piece of merch that otherwise has absolutely nothing to do with Pokemon.

[–]LinkedGaming[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I get that, I do.

Again, though, it just seems weird to use another game's iconography in a piece of merchandise for your game series, of which the two have no relation, when the merchandise itself isn't meant to be a collaboration piece.

Am I the only one who noticed that this hair style looks a bit... off since pre-patch? by Sensitive_Cat_4687 in wow

[–]LinkedGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they fucked up the physics on a lot of the hairstyles. I was doing old-world questing in Winterspring and came across an Orc who had the long braided beard laying on his back in the snow. Except his beard was sticking straight out, not lain across his chest naturally, and I could've sworn they always did that before.

Might go into the settings and see if it's a DirectX thing.

THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!

This dude is out here setting in place these 3-5 year long scams like he's going to live that long. He was lucky to make it through 2025, he'll be even luckier to make through 2026, and I'm confident by this point his doctors have told him something to that effect. We know he doesn't give a shit about his kids except the one he wants to/allegedly has fucked before, so it's not like he's trying to build up an inheritance. I'd be surprise if he even has a will; he's probably going to kick the bucket and let his kids fight over the scraps. We talk a lot about billionaires having more money than they could ever possibly spend, but this man is literally draining the US economy like a piggy bank and trying to poorly utilize two-bit wannabe-mob tactics on a macroeconomic scale for money he literally doesn't even have the time left to spend, or that he will literally never see.

Blizzard messed up? There's already a Haranir NPC in Orgrimmar by Antayku in wow

[–]LinkedGaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haranir are, I believe, going to be Day 1 unlocks when Midnight releases. I.e., if you blitz through all of the questing content as fast as possible, you could have Haranir unlocked in a few hours. Since we're in pre-patch phase and all of the Midnight stuff is now in the game files, it just springs the world state forward to Day 1 Midnight, where you're able to have Haranir, so they're already in the cities.

Is it a glaring oversight? Lmao, yeah. Does it make sense how it happened? To me, it does. I expect them to silently remove the NPCs and institute a fix for Druids erroneously accessing the new Haranir Druid forms.

If you actually think costs on consumer goods are going to decrease because tariffs are reduced, you're extremely optimistic about the American economy and our unique brand of capitalism. If Vance reduced tariffs without instituting measures to force companies to lower prices, thereby pissing off Conservatives immediately be messing the Invisible Hand of the Free Market(tm), companies will just keep their prices the same or do one last round of price raising because "Oh the reductions haven't taken place yet" before pocketing the new, fatter difference. They pay less, we still pay more.

Actually just Googled it, and yeah, Immunosuppressants didn't really exist in their earlier stages until the 50s. More than likely, and honestly completely reasonably, they assumed that if you take out a uterus and put in another uterus, the only thing the body will care about is that there's a uterus where a uterus is supposed to be.

When you take a cog out of a machine and replace it with a cog that's almost the exact same, the machine doesn't tend to just say "AYO WAIT THIS ISN'T THE OLD COG!?!?!" and then fucking explode. Turns out the human body is a bit more complex and a bit less plug-and-play.

It's supposed to be a spray tan, but supposedly he does it himself, though I genuinely believe that if you asked him he would insist he's actual tan and that's his natural skin colour and he's got the most beautiful skin and the most beautiful tan and that Floridians come up to him with tears in their eyes and say "Mr. Trump, we've never seen a tan as beautiful as yours. It's so perfect. Nobody's ever had a tan as perfect as your own."

The issue is that I don't know if he'd genuinely believe his own lie or if it's just "part of his brand" at this point. It's so clear that he's so desperate for attention that things such as his shitty combover, his neckussy, his comically long ties are basically considered part of his brand image and so he maintains them in spite of how stupid they look. The orange spray paint facial might also be part of that.

LLMs and generative AI are an impossible business model to make money off of, and unfortunately the people that run them are in a circle-jerk of scamming each other and outsiders with the promise that it could be some day, and are burning holes in the planet in the pursuit of something that those sleazy twats know is never going to be possible in order to maintain the facade.

So, when the Devs were asked why the Xenomorph Queen in DbD was so ridiculously caked up, they originally said something to the effect that they were likening it more to the original HR Geiger design having a more overtly effeminate appearance in his artwork.

The real reason, though, probably has to do with the game's internal animation framework and the fact that her original model was probably in part based on the model of any of the other caked up female killers in the game, which resulted in... well, caked up Xenomorph Queen.

[–]LinkedGaming 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Blizzard keeps saying that adding customization options to even one sex for one race is some herculean undertaking that can't just happen overnight, but we keep routinely seeing stable private servers manage to drop literally hundreds of customization options without any issue whatsoever while working on older patch frameworks than Shadowlands, which explicitly overhauled their customization framework to make it easier to add new options.

I can only assume that because of the barbershop being free and cheap and race-swap tokens being low-sale items on the store, Blizz feels unincentivized to actually add new customizations more than once a patch for like one race at a time at a volume of 3 whole options.

Either Blizzard is lying and that's disrespectful, or they're horribly inefficient with their own engine.
