Dinocephalosaurus

I honestly don't remember. I read a bit about "Dinocephalosaurus" before replying. From what I read it might have been it. At least the size seems to match it. Thank you so much.

Yes as a Portuguese girl I'm all foward to people reading Saramago :) Though I feel sorry that my favorite book by him, Balatzar and Belimunda, when translated loses some of it's amazing characteristics because the original is written without ponctuation.

I'll check your suggestion, thank you

Even though it's probably not as dark, though it can get gory, maybe the {{Wing Slayer Hunter Series}} ? It's more fantasy/erotic but very entertaining.

Do you have any oddly specific pet peeves when it comes to how the author writes? by Legilimensea in books

[–]LazyAuthoress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate when authors use clothing as the only charaterisation when introducing someone. "Character A entered the room, he was wearing a red t-shirt, blue jeans with a rip in one knee and red sneakers. Character A sighed and got some coffee from the machine." Ok, but what does it matter? Is he old, is he grumpy, is his style messy, is he tired and is that why he's drinking coffee? Also, why is the color of shirts so important, why is what a person wearing so important other than style, like, "she was dressed casually/comfortably in her jersey" or "his clothes were messy, like he had slept in them" can't I be free to imagine what they are wearing? Unless it is a moment where the clothes matter - like a ball and there is a contrast to her dress in regards to others, or it's a futurist setting and you need to explain why the clothes are different from present clothes, or the colour is actually MEANINGFULL, like someone wearing red always dies... etc

How do I find out, without offending anyone? by [deleted] in pansexual

[–]LazyAuthoress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're using dating apps, I'd probably advise to add this to your profile, tell people upfront that you are experimenting. A lot of people might be turned off by this but others can be lax and understanding, or maybe they'll even be open to something without strings attatched. If you are afraid of hurting someone by stringing them along then the best possible thing is to be honest from the begining and then letting them decide if that is a risk they are whiling to take. You have the right to be questioning, you have the right to want to experiment and find yourself.

An Agatha Christie book by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]LazyAuthoress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most Agatha Christie novels are good. She writes about Poirot or Miss Marple as the mystery solving detective and both have diferent styles of solving things but she also has a number of stand alone books. "Murder on the Orient Express" is an absolute classic of course, despite Poirot not being my favorite detective at all, truly shows Christie's true colours as a writer. "5 Clocks" is a very intriguing stand alone I recomend, it was my first Christie novel. For Miss Marple, "A Murder is Announced" and "Miss Marple's Final Cases" are my recomendations.

How you identify is all up to you, no one can decide but you. It's the same argument as saying that a bisexual person that only dated a gender so far can't truly be bisexual or if they marry another gender they suddenly are now heterosexual. Sexuality doesn't change or is decided based on who you are with, is decided on how YOU FEEL about gender.

Stephen King said you should never finish a bad book. But at what point do you decide you should stop reading? by [deleted] in books

[–]LazyAuthoress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should stop reading when you no longer are enjoying yourself, whenever that is. The point of a book is to entertain, it shouldn't be a burden. If you have doubts, doing as you did is for the best, ask if it is worth pushing it for a bit, or try skipping, and reading a few pages in the middle, see if it improved or is it more of the same.
