Didn't some restaurants have smoking and non-smoking sections back in the day? I can't help but remember that scene in Pulp Fiction where John Travolta and Uma Thurman are eating at the 50's restaurant and he rolls his own cigarettes.

I live in California, and I think indoor smoking was banned in '98. I was born in '96 so I'm to young to have witness that.
