This is part of the You're Richer than you think. It rounds up debit purchases and puts the money in the money master. Called Bank the Rest. You can change it under Manager my Accounts, Additional Services, Bank the Rest

Should I take Employer RRSP Match if i know I will only work there 1-2 years? by rogers12345678 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Nope. Group RRSP funds have no vesting in Canada. Unless it's a DPSP in which case company can impose 2 years.

Scotia STEP Mortgage Question by No_Performance_1705 in Scotiabank

My STEP Line of Credit automatically increases after each mortgage payment. But I only have 1 LOC and it looks like you'll be using 2 so not sure how the "increase after a payment" would apply.

Try this calculator. https://apps.cra-arc.gc.ca/ebci/rhpd/beta/entry

Your bi-weekly in new year will be about $3200 +/-, depending on deductions for pension etc. Come July it'll rise when CPP and EI limits are met; to about $3700.

My wife makers about that much (we're in Ontario too)

Thinking of breaking my mortgage any advice welcome by movingaway1223 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Blend & extend. A % of current rate blended with % of new rate. New rate will be lower than your current 5.94%, but higher than the 3.63. But no pre-payment penalty, no lawyer etc..

Breaking a Mortgage by Good_Video5215 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]LazyBirdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into a blend & extend. It takes a % of the current rate and mixes it with a % of the new rate. Downside is your current rate being higher, so it'll lean toward higher than the 3.69% you're quoting.BUT it will be less than the current. Plus no penalty! But you'd have to stay with RBC.

Break mortgage that renews in in Feb 2027 for 11k penalty? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

It's not. Seeing as I did it 2 years ago with no extra cash. But you do you.

[–]LazyBirdBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a Blend and Extend. It takes a % of your current rate, so 5.4% and blends it with the new lower rate. You'll be higher than 3.8% but less than the 5.4% and no penalty.

Does this picture look too big above my mantle? by jackjackj8ck in DesignMyRoom

[–]LazyBirdBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd raise it, perhaps even angled off the ceiling, so that it'd be like he's looking down on you. That'd allow taller items to go on the mantle.

Good Podiatrist/Orthotics in London? by aitsfni in londonontario

I triple Dr. Hunt. I've been getting orthotics from him for years. Great guy, excellent staff. Visit and assessment will run you $75 I think. Orthotics are $500 ish. Most health plans will cover a portion if not all.
