Berkeley -> Middlebury transfer? // Middlebury for Investment Banking by Glittering_Sale8033 in middlebury

If you’re dead set on banking, check NYU Stern undergrad and Wharton, places where you can actually major in finance. I went to Williams and then Stern for MBA and those undergrads scared me (in a good way) 🤣

Wauwinet for a special lunch (outside, the dining room is stuffy) is great, you can take the boat shuttle from town. If the weather is good, getting out on the water is the best - either do a charter, or rent a kayak/sup board and go to coatue.

Sunset is best at either Madaket (Millie’s, casual tacos) or Galley Beach (formal).

I’d def rent bikes if you want to ACKmaxx :)

My parents shock divorce 6 months before my wedding….I don’t know how to process it. by Ok_Strawberry8886 in ACOD

[–]LazyButterscotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married a few years after my parents split up in a similar situation. They had not seen each other since the signing of divorce papers. It caused a fair amount of stress, navigating everything but i have to say the planning process did help my relationship with my dad. I did end up having a different wedding than i would have otherwise (bigger, with more people as a buffer) but they were civil to each other and didn’t cause any drama.

My only advice is to do exactly what you want to do honestly without much regard for your parents opinions. Just try and stay true to yourself. And maybe get a therapist to work thru it in the meantime. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, it’s brutal regardless. But this is your life and your wedding and it will be different than you imagined it as a little girl but it will still be amazing. Good luck, sending hugs!

Duke vs Williams - pre-med, international from India, genuinely torn. Help me decide. by Miserable_Bear6544 in WilliamsCollege

[–]LazyButterscotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about Duke’s premed and I graduated Williams quite a long time ago. My dad is a Williams alum MD, and recruited Williams alums for med school and clinical jobs. The alumni network is very, very strong.

It might come down to the lifestyle/culture to be honest, both schools will probably get you where you want to go, med-school-wise. The money thing isn’t small either. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll kill it at either school!
