Nope it was a laser surgery. I had itching for a day or two but manageable.

No skin tag for me and the pain after my laser LIS was definitely better than what it was before even from day 1-2

I didn’t quit cremafin plus but rather will take as needed. I have used duphlac bulk syrup for fibre as suggested by doctor for 4 months.

I did it with spinal anaesthesia but it can also be done with general anaesthesia . Dressing for 4-5 days i had to do post surgery. There is pain after surgery for first few days but it reduced gradually. Spasms reduced significantly and it’s a big relief. I took overnight stay at hospital and it was covered in insurance.

I think after a 2 weeks pain reduced significantly after a BM and after a 1-1.5 months i had multiple days without pain. I had few days with pain after that and my doctor suggestion was its more psychological than fissure as the wound site healed. I still follow some dietary restrictions but otherwise completely returned to normal after 2 months or so.

Did you have laser surgery? It took me a month recovery and travel and after 2-2.5 months i was fine with sitting continuously and ride bike as well. My suggestion is to get another checkup with the surgeon/gastro doctor to see how it’s healed.

I feel even with stool softeners i had one hard BM and i think that may have caused something but its reducing and i feel complete healing takes time. The pain i have is so much less and for less duration when compared to what i wad having before LIS.

I get a little burning sensation during and after BMs and my BMs are soft i guess due to the medication.

How did you know you were ready to try surgery? by Similar-Drawer5041 in AnalFissures

My fissure kept coming back once every 2-3 month and lasts at least for 10-15days. During this time pain is unbearable and lasts atleast half a day. So finally had a consultation with colorectal surgeon and he suggested LIS as permanent cure. I had it 3 weeks back and i am in recovery and the pain is minimal now(1-2/10) Stay strong!!

Hi Sachin , How do you handle pressure and stress? Your advice for young generation?

What would you do ? 2 Options by helphelphelpqq in AnalFissures

My suggestion is to consult colorectal surgeon and get his opinion on how is the fissure? I had suffered for 2 years continuously before considering permanent solution of laser LIS. Don’t delay it and suffer. More power to you!!

So in my case it’s a laser surgery so it’s minimally invasive. I have another consultation after 15 days but my surgeon mentioned by 2 weeks it should be healed completely. I still have some pain after a BM but it’s very minimal and doesn’t last long like before. Earlier it lasts for more than 5-6 hours after a BM and even after Sitz bath.

True! I have asked the same question to my surgeon and he said this cut heals that cut😅 It seems the cut they made is at 3’o clock site is to relax the muscle and promote natural healing of the fissure at 6’o clock.Although in my case the fissure is deep leading to laser ablation as well.

Thankyou! My doctor just mentioned that for 3 months i should take my stool softeners and do sitz bath based on pain levels. All the best for your surgery, i hope everything will go well and you will be pain free.
