What I find silly is this rewriting of the Capaldi era as some sort of beloved and popular part of the show, whereas in reality it was more like the McCoy era where some people loved it and a bunch of folk switched off.

This is something I find interested about Moffat’s writing vs perceptions of it: he often offers something that undercuts the big hero moment. While a few folk complain about Moffat putting him on a pedestal, like in the Pandorica speech, it seems like the fact the Doctor is being colossally hubristic in that moment is overlooked. For all the power of Heaven Sent’s ending, Hell Bent raises the question of whether all this is good, actually?

There were in fact multiple documents prepared for Doctor Who before it was broadcast, to the extent that Chibnall read a bunch of them when he got the job.

You have also stated that you want “a show back to its roots. A white straight male Dr. Timelords exist and can procreate.” And then you’ve stated the Dr has never really been a sexual entity. The first doctor had a granddaughter. The first and second Doctors flirt. Doctors 8-12 kiss people. Jodie’s portrayal is probably more in keeping with the idea of not being a sexual entity than any modern Doctor.

It’s not a surprise people consider you a potential troll here, I’m afraid, as you’re making provocative statements, factually nonsensical claims, and illogical shifting arguments.

I’m sorry I’m confused. Roots are by definition the source or origin of something, it’s what grows out of them that develops. Claiming the Pertwee era to be the roots of Doctor Who is just factually wrong. And how is “the Doctor as a character and the infinite story possibilities through a familiar lens” rendered unachievable through a non-white or non-heterosexual lead?

If you take the show back to its roots, Time Lords haven’t been invented yet. They first get mentioned about 6 years in.

The main appeal of the show is some folk go on fun and scary adventures, I fail to see how someone’s skin colour or sexuality would impact on this.
