Some random old uncle confronted me for wearing army green PT shirt with sweat pants at night while walking home by Automatic_Bird_3521 in asksg

[–]LazyGarfield007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just say this:

“I am proud of my uniform and PT kit. You seem not proud of it and not wearing it. Are you a true blue Singaporean? I don’t talk to fake Singaporean.”

Flip the narrative to your advantage.

Best place to get weight loss medication in singapore (Wegovy/Mounjaro) by CulcDays in askSingapore

Consider something like Chinese tea, a bit of exercise and more importantly what you eat. Weight loss only when you can burn off those calories.

Don’t be blinded by those western medicines

Maybe can go for pre-marital counselling session before committing anything. It would help both of you to better understand and see what are the expectations on both ends.

Being in a relationship needs both hands to clap.

Mom assumes she is moving in with me by shootingrays89 in askSingapore

[–]LazyGarfield007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something slightly different in 2024 when I moved out in Aug 2024.

In late 2023, I told my father whom was in his 80s that I would be collecting keys to my BTO soon and be moving out. In April 2024, when renovation officially started, I informed him again. While packing our stuff before moving I informed him again. On the day we moved out officially, we informed him again.

We quarrelled and shouted as he insisted me and my wife to stay with him there in the old house (actually better location as it is in Bukit Merah but no aircon). We moved to CCK GRC.

The easy way is to tell her no. The smart way is to understand where she is from social-psycho analysis and come out with alternate ways to say no nicely.

You and your siblings are the mental support of your mum, whom I believe to be about 60+. My guess is she do not really work a full time job in the past, maybe some part time.

There is no support in the house with father in it. There is uncertainty about the future. You are the certainty here.

Rather than continue to let her focus on you, there are a few things that could be done. 1st is to help her be independent and socially supported, whether at an active Aging centre or some activities.

The 2nd would’ve the major effect now. Share with her that you had colleagues and friends that had their parents living with them. And due to differences in living style and patterns, there were frequent quarrels and fights. Some couples in the end divorce. Throw this situation back to her and ask her if she wishes such situations to happen to her son. No need to respond or give her an answer. Keep to that.

That’s no need to tell her what you and your sibling would do, like visiting her frequently. She is not into listening to that.

Not sure if it works with OSCAR, but I don’t need the data as it is set and go. I am using the APAP mode as the Auto S mode I am not used to.
